  1. Like Chili Davis? The Twins keep looking toward the future, but a hot bat right now would be nice.
  2. Well, ... Collabello made the Twins pay. Justin Morneau, Chris Colabello, David Ortiz ... how many ex-Twins will play better after leaving?
  3. More change ups? I can here the sweet music playing again in Minnesota.
  4. Don't even get me started! I was upset when it went down, and in hind-sight, it was worse ... much worse. Ortiz was THE big bat in the lineup, and the Twins sent him packing.
  5. .386 AVG 3 HR 10 RBI .449 OBP 1.040 OPS 19 games ... 8 walks and 22 strike outs. Swing away!
  6. The DH spot is good for a proven power hitter that can no longer play the field. It is not a good spot for a player who is trying to prove he can hit in the majors, as more times then not the answer is no. I would rather have big slow power hitters swing away and strike out than go with the pitch and hit soft liners just to put the ball into play. The Twins made that mistake with David Ortiz, and it cost them a future Hall of Fame player. Is Ryan Howard the answer at DH? If he can hit .265 and keep his power number up, maybe. That contract is huge, and he has never faced American League pitching. Target Field is designed for no doubt home run hitters. It is not like the Metrodome where a long double could make it over the glass. I would like to see a no doubt slugger at DH for the Twins, but I do not know if that player should be Ryan Howard.
  7. "Please get out of my Van Halen T-Shirt before you jinx the band and they break up."
  8. Seth, thanks for the update. When does Adam Brett Walker lose the "Saved by the Bell" third name and just become Adam Walker?
  9. Bad trade the minute the ink was dry.
  10. Missed the game live. I see the Twins got rocked. Duensing has got nothing to put up there. As guess a 4-3 loss is the same on the record, but this was just a bad game.
  11. Chris Colabello is smashing the ball. Denard Span is just playing his game. Justin Morneau was convinced he could not hit at Target field.
  12. Football players risk it on almost every play for a lot less money. If Mauer doesn't catch, he should renegotiate his contract.
  13. Bingo! Keep him in AAA until he proves himself in all areas, and keep his service time down. Hicks did not pay his dues in AAA, and that showed. The Twins basically gave him service time in the Bigs when he should have been mastering his skills off the clock.
  14. I hope not. Last year, I was sad when I saw his line for games, as I thought he had a chance to do well. Then again, many Twins prospects played far worse at the Major League level for various reasons.
  15. Colabello was batting .337 with five home runs and 18 RBIs at Buffalo before being called up. Do the Blue Jays get more from him than the Twins?
  16. Beresford has done everything the Twins asked him to do. Here was an opportunity to give him his shot without having to send another player through waivers.
  17. If a team cannot win when the other side makes four errors, it would be pretty bad. Still, the six earned runs were more than enough. By the way, 9th error by Santana already. Dozier and Plouffe both had nice games. Mauer was 0-2 with RISP.
  18. What? He only hit three batters ....
  19. Bruno was not a particularly good hitter in the majors. That does not mean he doesn't know his stuff. There are too many hitters that have not improved under his watch, but reports are that he did a good job in the minors.
  20. Some fans believe Mauer is still earning most of his paycheck. He is like a dead albotross on the deck of a sinking ship.
  21. Unless the Twins go to the OPS lineup theory, having Dozier bat first is not a good long term plan. Even then, it may not be good. Having Santana bat there before establishing himself as a major league hitter was not a good plan either.
  22. I hope it is not serious ... not TJS serious. Sliders and curves are tough on the elbow - especially on young arms. The DL is the best thing the Twins organization could do to keep this from getting worse. Some organizations rush pitching prospects, and they overwork young arms. Long toss programs and pitch counts can help, but overuse still happens.
