  1. My wish list: Castro: Yes (as a low cost backup) Cron: Yes Schoop: No Gibson: No Big Mike: Yes Odorizzi: Yes Perez: No Romo: Yes
  2. Unless there is a major setback with his health issues, I have no doubt Gibby is on the post-season roster. Most likely as an "opener" in a bullpen game or middle innings relief.
  3. I definitely wasn't questioning your post. I was questioning the poster who appeared to be questioning your comment on Balazovic's good work ethic.
  4. Is there a question about his work ethic? I just read an article on MiLB.com that said: Like he did last year, he plans to spend the offseason working out in Fort Myers, trying to put on weight and build up strength. "I'm gonna be working on that changeup and my breaking stuff to be able to throw it whenever I want in counts and be more consistent with it," Balazovic said. Sounds like good work ethic to me!
  5. A fresh start with a new organization may be in everybody's best interest.
  6. The article wasn't well received when it was first posted. I don't see the need to keep rehashing it. It's good to see Sano on a better career path. Hopefully, he can maintain his current trajectory.
  7. I'd much prefer a team of Dick Bremer and Ted William's defrosting head to the pair doing the Royals TV broadcast this weekend. Regardless of Dick's partner in the booth, we haven't got it so bad.
  8. Good get for the Twins! Probably one of the better controllable arms available.
  9. Is it possible that asking for Buxton was done in response to a equally ridiculous, low-ball offer from the Twins? Just saying, we don't know the whole conversation.
  10. You're right! Losing one's mind on the Twins Daily game thread is how seasons get turned around!
  11. You can't seriously be equating your little league experience to a MLB pitcher's need to have all of their skills functioning at an extremely high level in order to be effective on any given night. Even the greatest pitchers have bad nights. It doesn't mean they are in any way unprepared.
  12. There's a lot to be said for keeping things loose. It is possible that Astudillo is a necessary ingredient in this team's chemistry.
  13. Maybe we need La Tortuga's mojo back on the bench? His presence seems to have a magical effect on the bat rack.
  14. Does Amir Garrett from the Reds do anything for anybody? He's having a great year on (I believe) a one year deal.
  15. I have no problem making a deal with a division foe. If you can make a swap that will help you win a World Series, you should make that deal.
  16. We really need to see how a now healthy and seemingly fit Miguel performs in the next couple months before we start penning his obituary. To this point, his career has been plagued with bad luck and bad choices. Sounds and looks like he's decided to take his job a bit more seriously. He's always had the talent. He should get the opportunity to redeem himself and so far, its been a mostly good first few weeks.
  17. Do you think Wes Johnson has had a look at the pitchers who will be available in the later rounds and pinpointed a few that he thinks can be coached up?
  18. Doesn't appear to be much love for college arms from any team so far in the 1st round.
  19. I remember getting a Spectrum subscription in about 1983. Spectrum required a weird satellite-like rooftop antenna and a descrambler box. I think that was the first time you could get a majority of the Twins home games on TV. I'm pretty sure that Calvin was of the opinion that if you wanted to see a home game, you could buy a ticket.
  20. As I recall, home games were not broadcast on KMSP, only road games and not even all of those.
  21. I'd be a moron. Arraez needs to be playing every day.
