  1. Switching to the hockey game.
  2. Cockiness only works when you are backing it up with production on the field. Arcia seem a bit more businesslike so far. Until the production picks up, I hope he controls the swagger.
  3. Yes, it's called the StarTribune Forums.
  4. Kinda harsh, don't you think? Just because the guy sees the writing on the wall and wants to see if he is a better fit in another organization, doesn't make him ungrateful. He is 26 years old. He needs to find his last best opportunity and obviously it is not in the Twins org. Good luck to him.
  5. Completely disagree with you. Spring training is about a lot more than who goes north with the team. How prospects perform, where they are dispersed through the system, who gets cut, seeing if Park can handle ML pitching, players like Sweeney and Quentin fighting to regain a major league roster spot. These are the stories that make Spring Training very interesting.
  6. I still can't figure out what you are suggesting as a "solution"? It's a guaranteed contract. The Twins can't just stop paying Mauer and unless Joe's concussion symptoms include insanity, he is not going to renegotiate the deal. He is what he is and, like it or not, he is going to be around a couple more years. Let's hope for a productive, healthy season from him.
  7. I'm going into Spring training with the optimist attitude that "he'll be fine". Might be wrong, but at this point who can say. Positive waves.
  8. I like them. Though I wish they included the number on the front.
  9. Following a path very similar to Torii's. I have learned to be much more patient with prospects (I would have given up on David Ortiz at the time too). Great to see Aaron finally figuring things out and living up to his potential (with the Twins and not another club).
  10. I didn't know they still had a red jersey option. Thought that they became taboo a few years ago.
  11. My favorite Twin of the early 80's. Long-time (now former) Angels hitting coach. A genuine goofball - Mickey Hatcher
  12. Hopefully he's here to stay! Best of luck to him.
  13. I know I am in the minority, but I do not love CHS Field. I don't like the black and gray color scheme. I think the architecture is very cold and uninspiring. Just not my idea of a ballpark reminded me more of some kind of avant-garde theater.
  14. Can we declare a moratorium on these "incriminating photo" comments? Eduardo has been a contributor. Might be in a bit of a slump. Should not be DHing, But belongs on the team.
  15. I was very skeptical about the signing of Torii Hunter. I figured it was only a scheme to sell the past, knowing the current team would once again be, at best, so-so. I was very wrong. Torii has been a huge contributor to the team's current success. Good at-bats, fairly solid defense and playing an immeasurable role in what appears to be a new clubhouse attitude. The team is once again fun to watch and I think a lot of the credit goes to Mr. Hunter. Keep it up!
  16. The Twins invested some $$ in him and I'm sure they want to give him one last opportunity before they cut-bait.
  17. Laudner needs to stop saying "pleth-oar-ah".
  18. Jack Morris is not an interesting color commentator.
  19. This is Aaron's last best chance to click. There isn't a Twins fan anywhere who isn't hoping for anything but the best for him. Good luck!
  20. Non-terrible baseball is fun!
  21. Anyone else irked that the Pohlad owned "flagship station" of the Twins radio network did not broadcast today's game, yet it was available on other stations in the Treasure Island Radio Network? I was able to listen on an AM station out of Glencoe while in my car, but no reception in the office. I sure wish they would find a better radio home in the metro area. The modern/alternative or whatever format this latest incarnation is called doesn't mesh well with baseball. *end rant
  22. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-adHbtJklQMo/TiInEHyC_nI/AAAAAAAAIMQ/Ahai9jILB0g/s400/008.JPG I really like this kid. And his cereal ain't bad either.
  23. If things break their way this year (a majority of players playing up to their potential and no major injuries), they can contend. No harm in being optimistic. Anything can happen and it usually does.
