    Gibson being the barometer should tell you something. but it''s cherry picking. You bring up his first six starts, (where he gave up four or more ERA half the time) and you discard his last three completely. :-)

    Many have been calling for that for years.

    He gave up four or more ER in four his first six starts. He only got through 5 complete innings three times. His ERA after 5 starts was over 5.00. And he's been bad all but his first year with us.

    Berrios has had one game (out of seven) where he didn't do well and his FIP is a whole point less than Santana's. Santana is still the top guy because he's been doing it longer, but Berrios has been impressive.

    We are last in the AL in team ERA (results matter? :-), FIP, and WAR. Our offense is slightly above average in the AL. I'm not sure we're just a 3P and even three RPs away. In any event that's a 33% turnover of a normal pitching staff. Tall order.
