    Crazy people... Again, as said before and many times, most people aren't against RBI nor are they Anti-RBI. They think it's a horrible way to evaluate players' abilities. That doesn't make them anti-RBI, that just means they understand that there are MANY factors out of the batter's control that contributes to a player getting RBI.

    Mauer has started 33 of the Twins' 42 games going into today.

    From 2010 to 2013 (the pre-concussion years) Mauer's play was worth an average value of 27M. It was going very well. His wRC+ was 135 or higher in 3 of those 4 years. Then the concussion happened.

    I thought they were talking about how the offense is more relaxed on the road therefore they do better.

    Going into today, Twins wRC+ at home was 103, Twins wRC+ on the road was 97. Were our announcers just saying we hit better on the road? Cause no...not by wRC+ or standard BA/OBP/SLG%

    Indians rotation is 3rd in the AL in FIP and WAR. Tied for 1st in K/9, 5th in BB/9. But they have the 2nd worst LOB%, and they have the 2nd highest BABIP (which contributes to the worst AL ERA), so they apparently have the worst rotation...

    Hughes has given up 4 or more ER in 6 of 9 games started and has gone less than 6 IP in 6 of 9 starts.

    Q: What does Trevor Plouffe, Glen Perkins, Kyle Waltrop, Matt Fox, Jay Rainville amd Anthony Swarzak have in common? They were all selected in the 2004 draft before Dustin Pedroia, who the Red Sox took with their first pick of that draft. he was 1st team all Pac 10 three years straight. Was a Golden Spikes finalist, played shortstop and never had a season hitting below .347(a career.384 hitter at ASU). Also two time national defensive player of the year.

    Not sure anyone is saying Santana isnt a quality starting pitcher and our best right now.

    going into yesterday game, his LOB % was almost 100% (98 and change %)and his Babip was like .120 or something. Those numbers are ridiculous and he has never been close to those for a whole season in his career. Those numbers dwarf Kershaw and Pedro in even their best seasons. So once he normalizes well, you know. I still consider him a low #2, high end #3. Not sure i could pick one or the other.

    It really depends on what kind of pitcher you think Santana is. If you think he has morphed into a true ace type starter at 34, then yeah maybe some concern. If you think he is a pitcher whose true talent lies somewhere between lower end #2 type and high end #3 type pitcher, there should be no concern at all.

    So when filtering LF with 100 or more PA, 34 names came up. Aaron Hicks leads in wRC+ with a 183, Rosario is 26th with an 89. Of course Hicks plays everywhere in the OF and he will show up on the same filter for CF, but still. Almost 100 point difference in weighted runs created plus.

    The only thing Rosario has in common with HOFer Puckett and perhaps deserving to be HOFer Oliva is they all played for the Twins. Punto is like Oliva and Puckett too.

    So we have been drafting well and spending money in the international draft, but we have one full season with a winning record this decade (which is the only year we didn't lose at least 92) We have been drafting high for years. For years the excuses we weren't getting much from drafts is cause drafted so low. So now that we are drafting high consistently, the players should be better. They should be higher ranked. We have one guy in the top 100, and none in the top 40, right? We shouldn't be okay with doing average in drafts because, due to many others excuses used for not having top players on our MLB teams, we have to nail our drafts. Especially when we consistently draft high. I seriously can't understand how people can defend our drafts, especially when a lot of our talented position players weren't drafted.

    Our rotation: FIP: 27th in MLB, 14th in AL XFIP: 29th in MLB, last in AL K/9: 29th in MLB, last in AL BB/9: 22nd in MLB, 12th in AL Last in IP which is a bit deceptive since we have only played 35, so Im sure that goes up. Tied for 26th in WAR (tied for 14th in WAR in AL) Rotation is not anything to brag about.
