  1. Seth, I thought I read an article by you before the season started or maybe it was just some comments, that said you thought we would be serious division contenders this season. Am I remembering correctly?
  2. I'm sorry, but this is a poorly constructed team. That's on Ryan. Molitor has made a lot of boneheaded moves, but Ryan has made some questionable calls too.
  3. 'I think he will be more than fine. He has to be as good as Span, better than Revere (whom everyone seems to hate, but the guy gets on base and steals them...what more can you ask there)' Span is very under-rated. He was as a Twin by both the fan base and the media. He still is in a lot of ways. Revere has only recently started getting on base at a decent clip. His career OBP is still under .330 and 24 points below Span's career OBP. And even if one really cared about SBs, he's also only eclipsed 30 SBs once. And Span was always the better CF (even before taking into account Revere's noodle arm). Span just isn't flashy and doesn't have a big smile. I'm not sure there's any way to say that, as an overall player, Buxton HAS to be as good as Span. I'd be happy with that and not sure he'll ever get there.
  4. I was there. In person. The 2nd game of a split double header. I had fantastic seats, but drank a bit too much between games and every half inning it was off to the bathroom. Edit, nope. Not his first game. My bad. His 4th start. Sorry.
  5. I'm waiting for when there will be too many true quality pitchers. Going to be a long time.
  6. Yeah, I couldn't disagree more. He's a reliever now for as long as he's a Twin and probably for his career (since he'll be pigeonholed by the time he reaches FA). He got put in the bullpen last season in favor of lesser pitchers staying in the bullpen (including a guy with no future with us) and the same thing happened this year. Ryan barely did anything to address the bullpen because he plans on May being a bullpen guy regardless of the rhetoric the team spoke about him getting a chance to be a starter.
  7. Do you have some examples, that you would share, where you believe questioning Ryan and Molitor is valid? I'd be interested in reading them. In regards to this, bringing up Meyer for relief help and letting him sit for 8, 9 days is ridiculous. If they were going to starting him on Tuesday, they could have called him up Sunday or so and, in the meantime, actually bring up a pitcher to help the bullpen until then.
  8. Dallas K is not having a good season so far.
  9. yeah, when an umpire misses a call right in the middle of the strike zone, that's bad.
  10. and the ball to strike ratio is bad. and him showing frustration to the umpire about the calls isn't good either.
  11. I'm getting tired of Morris talk about how the umpire's buddies are making the call in NY. if they consistently screwed up to favor their friends, there'd be a talkin' to.
  12. he questioned lineup construction a day or two ago.
  13. My first job was also as an umpire. I've done it from little league (to include regionals which is right before LLWS) all the way to lower level college ball.
  14. no. then again, look at how our manager sets lineups. then it becomes less perplexing.
  15. Dozier was flying around the bases. Why did Molitor pinch run for him again a week or two ago?
  16. So that's Morris in place of Bert? I was wondering who it was that was actually making me miss Bert.
  17. With as heralded and supposed deep of a farm system the Twins have, I don't think it'd be a problem to trade a quality prospect (i.e. a hope and a prayer) for an actual proven quality MLB.
  18. or really, anywhere near the caliber? hint: same answer :-)
  19. I'm sure there's a better way to get your point across than being overly sarcastic with a poster and saying a poster is arrogant as hell.
