Our pitching staff going into today had a FIP of 5.00 and an ERA of 4.62.

Pujols is one of my favorite players ever. Obviously I'd rather him not do well against us, but he did. So CONGRATS!
  3. jimmer
for a long time, Pujols was a very good 1B. He hasn't aged well. He is a sure fire HOFer. Best player in baseball for a decade.

I also prefer Greg Laswell's version of 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun'

I love Sugarland's cover of Brook and Dunn's 'Red Dirt Road'. In fact, I like it more than the original. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqX0UqsOO_Q

yeah, i was quite a bit older than that when i started hearing the hype which i heard for many, many years.

i wonder what 4 games of harper salary is compared to 6 games of strickland salary? I imagine harpers punishment still heavily outweighs strickland's

it will change. Its better to use DRS anyway, IMO, especially before the year finishes.

Rosarios defense was exagerrated due to assists (like his offense was exaggerated due to unsustainable triples). He is a good defender, but he still needs to work on his baseball smarts.

its about average, zero being average. But for DRS, only 8 OF in baseball have more DRS. Thats looking at 68 qualifying OFs. Kepler is a very good defender. Been saying that for quite some time and my opinion hasnt changed.
  11. jimmer
UZR hates Kepler this year? He is in the plus side of UZR in RF and CF. DRS has him with 6 defensive runs saved too. And the pitching hasnt been much better at all. The pitching staff ranks dead last in AL in regards to FIP, though I keep getting told ERA is the actual results of the pitchers efforts. In ERA, they are 12th.
  12. jimmer
Absolutely pathetic. Strickland is used sparingly, about one inning every 2.5 games or so. In fact, before his childish antics, he hadn't been used in like six games. So wow, a six game suspension! Stop the presses, such a deterrent! I mean, the Giants are going to have to scramble to find someone else to throw one, maybe two, innings in a six game span. In the meantime, Harper, a starting position player, will miss four full games.
  13. jimmer
    In the delusional zone, apparently.
  14. jimmer
Kepler is getting a HR here.
  15. jimmer
Well, with MLB Extra Innings, you don't have to listen to any of the Twins announcers if you don't want to. A huge majority of the time, I just watch the feed from the opponent.
  16. jimmer
I backed it up. Saw it. Sad.
  17. jimmer
Defensive wizard? What did I miss?
  18. jimmer
I have never seen a fight at any job I've worked at or any gym I've been to. Too much time around adults, I guess. But anyway, since it DOES happen, it's ridiculous a barely used reliever only gets 6 games for intentionally throwing at a guy while Harper, an every day player, get 4 games. Just take the beaning, guys. Go Old School rules! Take that 3 year grudge fulfillment like a man!
  19. jimmer
Okay, so here's my issue with the unwritten rules. It's okay for Berrios to react the way he did when he struck that guy out. If the guy had jacked a HR and reacted with obvious joy, he's showing up the pitcher.

It was a good trade for KC when it happened, it turned out well for them, and I'm sure they'd do it ll over again.

Movies: Field of Dreams is so beloved and even though baseball is involved, I didnt really care for it. TV: I have never cared for South Park, which a lot of people seem to love. Music: Led Zepplin. Never understood the hype.
  22. jimmer
We would have been in the postseason whether we got Capps or not. Rauch was doing the job just fine and Capps certainly wasn't the deciding factor.
  23. jimmer
    sad how true this is.
  24. jimmer
Going into today, our rotation was last in the AL in WAR, 2nd to last in FIP, 2nd to last in K/9, and last in xFIP.
  25. jimmer
Yeah, it'd be hard to leave 28 men on base when only 24 men got on base :-)
