  1. I know a lot of Twins fans who had serious concerning about drafting him for this exact reason. In any event, seems some aren't concerned at all about his time in the majors so far. I am, and I never had the really high expectations a lot of people had. I figured an at best ceiling of Eric Davis, but have my doubts he'll come close to that. Might end up like a Peter Bourjos type.
  2. or 2016...and very likely 2017.
  3. Except that a lot of what is being said by posters now about what has happened are about things they expressed concerns/doubts about prior to the season even starting. A lot of the things going wrong was easily predictable and was predicted by many prior to season start. This idea that every comment is just about knowing things in hindsight is not true at all.
  4. usually hard to tell the difference between him bunting and him swinging away.
  5. He bought into the idea that the ball was in the air. He still sees no flaw in that. It's the ball's fault it was on the ground
  6. I HATE losing to the White Sox more than any other team. HATE IT! Getting humiliated by them (and our own play) makes it even worse.
  7. do some research that requires more than 10 seconds?
  8. how dare he not get on base at least once! Loser! :-)
  9. The young Garcia used to play RF, but it hurt their defense, so they moved him to DH for a better fielding OF?
  10. did I hear that right? did activity just now start in the Twins bullpen?
  11. here comes the hook. edit: Oooooorrrrr not.
  12. If he was a rookie, he would have been pulled innings ago. good thing he has such a strong history of quality pitching for the Twins.
  13. forgot how to run to first and his body lost muscle memory? :-)
  14. why was Escobar pulled? who is left on the bench??
  15. Hard to believe defense affects pitching. Even something barely important like corner defense :-)
  16. Nice play by Joe. If he doesn't cut that off, guy likely scores. BTW, someone needs PFP.
  17. Not sure if I remember correctly, but if I do, I had one of their pizzas (it was definitely someone's) at a Kiosk at Ohare one time while I was waiting for a connecting flight and I liked it so much I sent one to my dad. They kept it chilled and flew it out to him (deliveries like that were normal, part of their service, many people have pizzas delivered). Cost me quite a bit but he was appreciative since he's originally from Chicago.
  18. Nice play by Cabrera. That's a double against most LF. Seems this game, corner defense has mattered.
  19. It's the kind of play that gets high school players kicked off their team. Gets even HS managers to sya things like, 'If you've gone this far in baseball already and haven't figured out that doing that is boneheaded, then you're gone' :-)
  20. So Murphy got optioned, who is our backup catcher? BTW, wasn't Murphy supposed to push Suzuki for playing time and pretty much take over the starting job by season's end? Be prepared to welcome Suzuki back next year.
  21. And he's going to stop being good this year during this particular start?
  22. 'I asked Pohlad why he has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes in organizational philosophy. “I don’t know what the difference in philosophy that people would like to see,” he said. “Everybody had universally high expectations for this season relative to last season. We bought into that. I still don’t see any flaw in that. It’s just system failure.”' Everyone had universally high expectations? And, BTW, there were huge flaws into buying into that. If the owner(s) and management bought into that, they weren't looking too deeply at the team assembled and how the numbers they had last year didn't support the record they had last year.
