  1. honestly, I'd rather Bux face the righty.
  2. Pretty much, yeah. Not the first time I've heard/read the comparison.
  3. I was in Jamaica at a resort with my wife. We were in the bar and 'The Dance' was requested by a couple there on their anniversary. The Jamaican lady barely knew the song and was butchering it, so I took the mic and sang the rest of it (which was most of it). They thanked me and bought my wife and I a round (which was funny cause it was all you could drink:-) My wife and I were also the only guests to perform anything during the guest/employee talent show.
  4. He was scamming people for free drinks.
  5. wow, that was quite the adventure to catch that
  6. Didn't they say it was also superhero day?
  7. They are used to such bad defense on the corners they think fairly routine plays are difficult. Standards are low. But corner OF defense isn't important, so whatever.
  8. They called that a 'tough play'. My goodness.
  9. Who would have guessed. Talking about the leg kick.
  10. I wish that was true. They're always around. They don't always have fancy names. One just got convicted. The Grim Sleeper is his nickname.
  11. I love this part of your post. It's what I always think about when I see the rampant Plouffe slamming. Here's a guy who was done no favors by the Twins as he was coming through the system. Took forever for them to realize this guy couldn't play ML quality shortstop. Then he gets moved to a new spot and works his tail off to become a good 3B and succeeds. Yeah, probably time to move on, but the disdain towards him seems misplaced.
  12. Believe it or not there are plenty who do. I lost faith in his ability to be the GM we need back in 2007, but plenty on this board seem to completely trust his judgment.
  13. The Twins before TF targeted pitchers that were contact pitchers. They were less expensive than K pitchers, they also require good defensive players behind them. Strong glove guys are often less offensive threats than offense first players. They are also cheaper. It was a strategy built mostly on necessity (and pure cheapness) and TK did what he could with it. Gardy as well. Now, obviously, there were some players that were exceptions, but mostly our teams were like that for a long time.
  14. Buxton is pretty much toast against any quality curveball.
