  1. Hmmm, my info says Grossman slash the last two weeks is: .167/.286/.215 (gives him a nice round number for his OPS: .500).
  2. Well, in the interview with Pohlad, he said the organization believed the team would be better this year than last and that there was no flaw in that logic. So yeah, your last sentence applies.
  3. Yeah, the announcers also said Milone failed to cover and you can't do that. They aren't the smartest group, for sure, but I watched it a few times and I wouldn't have charged an error either. And the official scorer also didn't give it an error. Ball was a rocket, surprised Mauer got glove on it. If a shortstop stops a ball that is rocketed t him, it rolls a wee bit, and and still has time to pick it up and throw a guy out and the 1B is picking his underwear out of his crack, that's not the shortstop's fault. Edit: Official scorer changed the decision and charged an error.
  4. Mauer's was not an error. The problem is, Milone didn't cover.
  5. lots of fluff commentary today. It's thick.
  6. well, Roy says there's no doubt Kepler and Buxton are going to be good major league hitters. We can all rest easy now.
  7. or perhaps he meant over the last two weeks.
  8. The Brooklyn Bullies. Man, oh man. From Gardy (when he was here, managing) to the announcers. The pedestal they put the Yanks on and the fear they have of the Yanks is embarrassing. Then again, with this team, I should be used to that feeling.
  9. TB is one of the teams I thought would be interested. Their DH issue is a problem. Love to see him succeed over there as the primary DH.
  10. It's hard to believe he was 2nd in MVP voting in '84. Ripken, Murray, Trammell, Mattingly, Boggs and Rickey Henderson. I'd have them all in front of Hrbek that year.
  11. Before Hardy was traded, Gardy came out and said that even if Hardy was on the team, Casilla would compete for the shortstop position. Cause, you know, speed. He got his wish and oh boy, Casilla worked out great at shortstop...
  12. yes, but not many know about that and there's so much pushback on here for anything that isn't the most basic info that I didn't even bother showing that. I mean, we saw someone chide OPS+ on another thread when someone used it to compare OPS for players who played in different times and parks. :-)
  13. They must have just updated it, because when I wrote it, it said other-wise. Either way, neither looks reasonable.
  14. I'm sure most don't care, but BaseRuns says we should have 5 more wins (which would still have us last in the AL). For those who prefer Pythag, it says we should have 2 more wins than we have now. Additionally, for reasons passing understanding, we are projected to go 44-48 the rest of the way. I think whoever did that projection should take a pee test, but that's what's there.
  15. He hasn't played enough 3B at the MLB level to really consider him for the spot. Perhaps down the line, yeah. And yeah, looking at how many spots we'd be 3rd or 5th would be sad.
  16. Whether or not it's the players, team philosophy or player development (or likely a combo of all three) I think a lot of teams have much more talented rosters than us. It's a poorly constructed roster TR has put together which is low on MLB talent/MLB ready talent. I'm pretty sure we don't have one player who would be on an all AL Central team. Definitely not one that would start. That's horrible. )
