  1. Lat year,Rosario had an unsustainable amount of triples that inflated his slg% which inflated his OPS. he got on base less than 29% of the time. Not sure that showed us he could really be a good offensive corner OF in the majors. Getting on base so seldomly. along with all his mental mistakes in the field, is hard to swallow.
  2. For the ERA stat fans: Our pitching staff is dead last in the AL for ERA, and #14 really isn't close. #14 sits at 4.62, we are at 5.17. Our cracker staff rotation that had so many ML quality pitchers that we couldn't put May in the rotation has an ERA of 5.55. Our relief staff that barely got help in the offseason has an ERA of 4.58. Are there still people who believe this is a well constructed 40 man roster? Oh, and GO TWINS!
  3. I drove the autobahn every day to and from work at a speed of 130-140 mph. No speed limit on that stretch.
  4. Did that happen when he got hit?
  5. I'm guessing they will keep Nunez for next year, he'll go back to being what he's always been, and any trade value he may have built up will be gone.
  6. I really need to remember to put smiley faces up after ever joke I make...
  7. probably be a good idea to read why. it's why I posted the article.
  8. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/how-los-angeles-angels-hooked-rookie-phenom-mike-trout-in-mlb-draft-051212 Well, Trout was highly regarded by a few teams...
  9. I'm sorry. I find it hilarious that Wright is being pulled.
  10. In 2016, one of the big reasons why Howard won MVP over Pujols was because he had 149 RBI and Pujols had 137. Howard hit .256/.426/.518 with RISP. Pujols hit .397/.535/..802 with RISP. So who performed better with RISP? The guy with more RBI or the guy with 12 less RBI? Could it be that the 53 more PA with RISP helped Howard get more RBI? Andruw jones almost won MVP when he led the league in RBI with a whopping 128. He batted .207/.335/.386 with RISP. Look at those numbers, but he led the league in RBI. Maybe having 230 PA with RISP helped. Boston leads the majors in OBP. They lead in OBP by a lot in the AL. Their players have way more opportunities for RBI due to having runners on a bunch. It's not that RBI is worthless, just as a standalone stat with no other info it doesn't really tell us whether or not the guy really does well with RISP or not. But Terry Ryan loves the RBI stat, so it must mean a lot.
  11. what is the fascination with playing Park over Mauer at 1B? Why do you purposely hurt your defense like that.
  12. hahaha. That doesn't describe Jeter from everything I heard/read from/about him. Ortiz is, well, an egomaniac.
  13. Especially for a guy who thinks the whole game is all about him and he should have special privilege.
  14. what? it's important to establish your fastball right away? that's new info from Bert :-)
  15. I've pretty much stopped drinking beer in favor of ciders.
  16. He'll be out of baseball by then. Very likely retired.
  17. Just to clarify, are you saying Trout had an OPS of .672 in 1300 minor league PAs? Or are you talking about his 40 game intro to the majors before becoming ROY the following season and finishing 2nd for MVP?
  18. Scouting director Deron Johnson, 'He's adequet, er, he's good both first base and outfield.'
