    Did any reporter call them out about having only two position players on the bench? I know if one tries really hard and looks at things at a certain angle cause they really want it, they can come up with why that was defensible, but it really wasn't.

    If you go by by plate appearances not at bats. 24Ks in 49 PA. That's a hair less than 50%. Either way, horrible for sure.

    To me it showed that the FO was looking at surface stats instead of digging deeper. (kind of like what they did with Santana when giving him a starting job last year after an unsustainable 2015).

    I still think the ever expanding called strike zone for someone who has such a keen eye was part of the K issue Joe had, such as it was.

    I'm a firm believer in the idea that your best hitter should bat 2nd. Mauer batting there gives our best OBP guy more PAs meaning more opportunity for the power guys.
