The FBI is responsible for investigating federal crimes. This is a federal crime. The idea that things that happen in baseball by teams and players isn't important just because it's a game we watch is a strikingly strange stance to take, but we see this stance all the time. It's okay for players to take steroids, and for people to give it to them. It's no big deal. It's not okay for us mere humans, but okay for them and not worth the time to investigate. It's okay for one huge company to hack another, because the companies are sports organizations, but any other types of companies, throw the hammer! I'm not sure how much privilege people in entertainment should be afforded, but shouldn't it stop somewhere short of excusing them of federal crimes or major crimes in general? Baseball is a game we watch, but MLB is a huge financial industry and everyone involved should be subject to the laws that everyone else is subject to.
