  1. I said plenty of times we got a bargain with his contract. Still think that.
  2. No biggy. It's all good :-)
  3. I think most of the people who read Fangraphs on any kind of regular basis wouldn't have been surprised by the info there, nor would have gotten upset about it, nor would have let it derail the main part of the story for them. Fangraphs isn't the kind of site. That's more ESPN and MLB dot com territory.
  4. I'm confused a bit by your post. Do you believe he's not giving Dozier enough credit for the team's success? Is he not praising Dozier enough?
  5. Think maybe being tied for the best ERA in the AL and 2nd in DRS helped the W Sox be competitive enough to make the playoffs and win the World Series that year?
  6. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/18401-article-on-brian-dozier/?do=findComment&comment=346894
  7. Looking good offensively. Good for him and good for the team!
  8. I definitely read it. I read most of what that site puts out. I didn't post it cause I knew what would happen.
  9. No, they don't.
  10. yeah, I'm not going to post that one.
  11. Since Fangraphs started doing BaseRuns in '02, no team has ever exceeded their BaseRuns expected winning percentage by more than 70 points. In fact, three times out of 390 team-seasons a team has managed to steal a dozen extra wins by stacking their events in the most optimal way possible. Right now we're exceeding it by 188 points. I am really enjoying the ride for however long it lasts.
  12. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/brian-dozier-has-been-key-to-twins-surge/ An enjoyable read.
  13. http://espn.go.com/mlb/powerrankings Twins at #7. Thoughts?
  14. Absolutely love this show. Glad to see Dany is taking on Tyrion as an adviser.
  15. Twins are one of only three teams that have 30 wins or more this season.
  16. Josh Donaldson was my preseason pick for AL MVP.
  17. He was having a very good year in 2013 until he had a concussion and he had a very good year the year before. Maybe it has more to do with the concussion than being married.
  18. I think what Jeff said in today's Fangraph's chat: Q: Are the 2015 Twins this year’s version of the 2014 Orioles? They seem very light on talent but the usual markers of a lucky-and-not-actually-good team don’t really seem to be there. A: Last year’s Orioles finished with a BaseRuns winning percentage of .561. This year’s Twins are at .435. Put another way, the Twins are tied for the second-worst BaseRuns winning percentage in the American League. I don’t want to suggest that I think BaseRuns are everything, but I do think the indicators are very much present that the Twins are a fluke. THEN he said, and the part I want to emphasis, ' I know that’s not very fun, but the consolation for Twins fans is that the team is winning, and as long as the team is winning, it doesn’t really matter what the nerds are talking about'
  19. Not going to stop me from singing the song
  20. Ow, we want the Funk Give up the Funk Ow, we need the Funk We gotta have that Funk
  21. I think Escobar is considerably better on defense. Santana doesn't look good out there to me.
  22. Escobar is also young. If Escobar was in his 30s, that might be one thing, but he's only two years older than Santana. If their offense is roughly the same, they should play the guy who plays better defense. I believe that's Escobar.
  23. I thought the Twins last 4 years were horrible because they played incredibly horrible ball in practically every facet of the game.
  24. 6. Twins – Alex Bregman, SS, LSU Minnesota was tied to LHP Kolby Allard early this spring, but his back injury throws his status into question. He’s back on the mound and may pitch in a playoff game, but likely just throws a couple bullpens for scouts. He’s in the mid-first round area now, but could jump into the top 10 if he can show his early-spring form. In this scenario, I’ve heard Minnesota on Funkhouser, Bregman and Tucker, with Bregman making the most sense. I think he can stick at shortstop, but both he and last year’s first rounder, Nick Gordon, have some questions about that from scouts. From Kiley on May 8
