  1. Bicardi Limon with lemonade over crushed ice. One of the best summer drinks ever! Also, I sub Bacardi Limon in for regular rum on a Long Island Iced teas. Makes it much better.
  2. I figure we should give Buxton at least another 4-5 years to figure it out.
  3. Means little or nothing to the fans. Means a whole bunch for many of the players. Most people wouldn't mind being labeled as the best of the very best in the history of their job.
  4. I've always been much more interested in the Winter Olympics.
  5. yeah exactly. being able to only point to one guy and say it worked for him is actually a point against it happening not a point for it happening. there was this ONE tall guy and he ended up an inner circle HOF pitcher...:-)
  6. The discussion about Mauer stemmed from a question asked and answered at Fangraphs. Seems pretty on track to me since the discussion stemmed from the question of whether or not Mauer will be a HOFer.
  7. 'The Twins didn't make great selections with their trade picks (though Revere's lack of development and Span's up-and-down injury history hardly make the trades total losses)' Span trade was a 100% lost for the Twins. Not only in value for what he was worth versus what he was paid, but also taking into account that, in four years since he was trade, we STILL haven't replaced him AND then what we got for him became a total BUST. Guy was worth over 70M in the last three years we would have had him (under the contract he signed with us before he was traded), and he was paid around 20M. That's 50M surplus value and we got a player who hasn't done anything. So yeah, 100% lost on the trade.
  8. yeah, it really hasn't come close to Mauer posts actually :-)
  9. Obviously a small sample size compared to most everyone else on the last, but from 2015-present, for players with at least 650PA, Sano is tied with Bautista at 19th in wRC+.
  10. Probably in the hot air balloon :-)
  11. If AJ can throw you out, you have issues :-)
  12. He absolutely should be a HOFer. Ridiculous he fell off.
  13. funny is one word to use :-) Many of those are people are focusing on the huge contract he got. Though he played well for a few years after he signed the new contract, the complaining started in 2010. And then he got a concussion which affected him. Overall, I think a good chunk of it mostly centers around contract. how dare he get that huge contract, not hit for power and get a concussion! Everyone knows when you get a contract like that, you become a huge power guy and stay healthy. And of course, everyone knows when you switch to 1B, your hitting skills morph into a power hitting type. Comes with the glove:-) Ironically, there never seemed to be outrage of him getting underpaid when he was worth 30+M and getting paid much less than that.
  14. I never tried golf until I was 27. A friend of mine took me out one day and I found out I could drive the heck out of the ball off the tee, but it would slice like crazy most of the time. Once I figured out how far to stand, I had driving the ball down. Then came progress in the irons. My putting always seems to be good. My last round that year I shot a 90 on a par 72. I've played sparingly ever since. In fact, I haven't played since I retired from the Air Force.
  15. his .400+ BABIP since 1 July ;-)
  16. Now give us a list of all the players who were this bad to start their MLB career who never amounted to much of anything, if anything at all, in MLB. Wonder which list is bigger? :-) There are a bunch of young guys the last couple years who have come up and hit the ground running. This guy was the #2 pick, was a top 10 prospect his first year and a top 2 prospect the next three years. Buxton keeps having to go down because he has no clue at the plate. He Ks more than 36% of the time, his BA is under .200, he gets on base less than 25% of the time and his wRC+ this year was 46. And it bothers you people are showing their disappointment?
  17. Yeah, like I mentioned, his BABIP is like .400 since July. That's why his OBP rose (and now falling again). Nothing has changed about his approach other than more are dropping in for hits. I haven't really seen much of a difference. Either way, I doubt this team gives up on him. Nor should they. He's a nice #4 OF.
  18. BD can't bring back a front of the rotations starter.
  19. never got a sniff, except the very first year of his 8 year contract that is:-)
  20. Because he's not a good enough player for them to care? :-)
  21. I think he meant he likely won't be in the majors this year so the next season he'd be 27, but semantics is a fun game.
  22. If you want to think going from a 20-50 ish prospect two years in a row to out of the top 100 is no big deal, that's completely your choice.
