His defense was very good last year as well. Maybe it went unnoticed for whatever reason by some, but I was praising Plouffe huge strides on defense last season and this offseason as well. If they had figured that out much earlier, they could have transitioned him to 3B earlier in his pro career and he could have been an above average fielding 3B sooner.
