  1. unfortunately, our list of people who should bat 9th is pretty long:-)
  2. Mauer's defense is just fine at 1B. It's just not 23M dollar fine :-)
  3. If we had a good defensive catcher on the team now, it'd be easier to back the idea we need to continue to wait for Pinto to get better at catcher. But we don't. Pinto has 400 games at catcher in the minors. Not sure how much better we can expect him to get.
  4. This sounds like a post that might have been written about Plouffe a few years ago.
  5. seems Miggy Cabrera had the exact same way about him at 3B the last year he played there.
  6. Gibson isn't a kid in baseball terms. He's 27. As far as Santana goes, many felt last year was way over his head with his BABIP over .400. Now it's .286, so yeah, he's dropped. On top of that, he's wasn't a top prospect nor was Arcia. I don't think either was ever rated top 100 by any major prospect listings. Some people are screaming for the top prospects to come up.
  7. I was saying if we had gotten a quality CF (at any point in the last three years), we could move him to a corner whenever Buxton was ready. As far as Hunter goes, yeah I've been against that from the beginning.
  8. GO TWINS! and BTW, WAY TO GO WILD!
  9. kid goes up there all pumped up wanting to be the hero right after a pitcher walked a guy. Have to make him throw strikes.
  10. one less forceout possible depending on where the ball is hit.
  11. AT least there are some smart managers out there.
  12. another example of Mauer not being an RBI guy and working the walk instead :-)
  13. Plouffe was a top 10 3B last year and is in his prime, those guys aren't available all the time. Yeah, it took him quite awhile to become this player but then again, maybe if the organization realized he wasn't a shortstop a long time ago, it wouldn't have taken so long.
  14. 'NOBODY expected the Twins to shell out big bucks or top prospects for a bona fide stud CF this off season. Why would you when you had Buxton on the way' If we had gotten one through trade, though, he wouldn't have to stay in CF whenever Buxton (The guaranteed stud that will lift us from the depths of despair and will be awesome right away) showed up, right?
  15. If Hunter makes the hall of fame or even comes close I will eat my shorts.
  16. 'When Is It Time To Take Action?' About two years ago, at least. When an injury plagued season was followed up by a really bad season.
  17. Hey, but just wait, all these prospects are coming. It's all about the prospects. Guaranteed winning with all these top prospects.:-)
  18. I think a lot like the Hughes extension based on ONE great season he had with us. Will they like it if he goes back to being the NY Hughes?
  19. 'I don't think anyone could've predicted they'd be this bad' There were plenty of people who predicted they would be this bad.
  20. I know it sounds petty and makes little sense to some, but him saying he'd rather be back in LA than in Minnesota doesn't sit well with some Minnesota natives.
  21. Even the nice catch he had in the first few games of the season, (the sort of dive he had close to the RF line coming in on the ball), he hesitated on his initial break to the ball and when he was running to it he took forever to get to 'full speed'. That 'great catch' that passed some fans eye test would have been much easier for most RF.
