Just let Larnach concentrate on hitting crooked pitches. And let Wallner deal with the fact that Max Kepler's not going to be around if he decides to lay an egg at the beginning of the season.
Worth noting: Alonzo's agent is Scott Boras. He has been known to sweet talk the Twins into spending money they didn't know they could afford. Just sayin
Walker at $14 Million per sounds lovely. Of course he signed for $20 million per. So you're saying we could have traded away our best SP for a slightly above average 1B? Sign me up.
I've been ranting about the Twins getting rid of Rosario from the day they did. Still waiting for an analytic that measures heart. I agree with just about everything you said except one thing: I have no illusions that a different ownership group will fix anything. Different, sure. Fixed: TBD.
The Ishbias have owned the Suns for just shy of 2 years. For those of us old enough to be considered dinosaurs, think back to the first 8 years the Pohlads owned the Twins. Things move fast. And not always in the direction you want them to.
Reminds me of when I rant on here about the fact that Eddie Rosario brought intangible things to the Twins that no analytic could measure and then I get bombarded with a dozen analytic arguments. While Eddie is wearing World Series rings.
"Rosario is a shortstop" That's funny stuff. Like the Twins have ever shied away from putting a guy with absolutely NO business in the outfield in the outfield.
As far as Rosario being diet Castro, it's worth remembering that that was pretty much the expectation of Castro when we first signed him.
I'm relatively certain the Twins, like most teams, are listening to trade offers on any number of their players. Most of these offers will be scoffed at. Some will be countered. There may be some fire. But, generally speaking, far more smoke.
And once he gets stretched out he becomes a 6 inning guy. Or a 5 & 2/3 inning guy. Leave him right where he is. We have the "luxury" of having 2 potentially dominant high leverage guys at the back of the pen. Let's keep it.
