  1. I don't post much, but read a ton. You guys all make it worth while. I was happy to lose the Ryan old regiment. The new guys have drafted really really well. However, for all the nice roster management they did last year, they have really disappointed this year. They spent a ton of money which I liked but the problem with one year deals if it goes south, then you get what we got this year. That can't help the clubhouse. Maybe they are letting the MOY have free reign, but my gut says they have blessed the Belile, Wilson, gimenez, Grossman, field, etc disaster. We've lost good talent in Shaggy and others and without other call ups besides Buck (that's its own deal), I don't understand how Anderson and reed and others are not part of this team. Color me blah...I don't know what to think.
  2. Agreed, at some point and time, prospects have to earn their way up. Gordon did not do that this year. Not at all. Disturbing year for such a high pick. He's young and can bounce back. Heck we are still trying to figure out if Polonco can play short in the field (I think the answer is becoming apparent he cannot). As an organization we better hope Lewis can stick at short.
  3. Are we sure Jake Cave is a 4th outfielder? I know he is not a CF'er, but right now but this year he's playing better than Kepler (yes small sample size). This is a complicated mess by all accounts. The way the MOY is managing currently is frustrating though.
  4. Gimenez, who batted .204 at AAA is playing first base....scrap heap Fields playing left today....Wade/Buxton other young players all down in AAA. Shame
  5. People seem to forget Berrios struggles when brought up to MLB. They lasted over the parts of two seasons. Gonsalvez is not a high, high end prospect maybe, but he is certainly a projected back of the rotation guy that we need to pan out. The Twins desperately need some of these upper level guys to work out. He has dominated at every level, so we will need to give him a shot, as many starts as possible. Stewart on the other hand has really not done anything to deserve his shot, but I am fine with them seeing what they got in both kids. Way to early to make snap judgments IMO.
  6. If he had displayed any ability to hit AAA pitching besides the last 2 plus weeks, I would agree...I agree with Roy Smalley, both Sano and Buck should play winter ball and figure it out like other mid level guys who are are close but are not really...for both guys it's all about pitch recognition...when they recognize they are really much better, throw them a slider low and away...
  7. Nick, I agree with you completely on this article. I couldn't have said it much better. Joe was in a slump recently and sat maybe 2 of 5 games. He has bounced back a little. That shows me that the grind is not kind to Joe. It will be interesting to see what they do with these to, and the MOY, who I feel has not been great this year.
  8. We all love Joe, but the strip is leading a 7-1 loss glorifying hit 2086? Let the blogs glorify him, but the twins took a beating...the lead should say, twins get destroyed, Joe hits milestone. It's just words but maybe I still hate losing.
  9. Seth your my guy, hell your all our guys...you've been doing this so long. You're wrong here tho. The old FO f'd up. Gonzalez s/b up now...silly. The've been wrong with Stewart and then did are w Jay. Let's just say TR and his crew **** the bed. BTW they did! It's been long enough to assess. It doesn't mean the new guys are tainted with that stain. Stewart and Jay are abject failures, good dudes but common TD has to be objective. If the organization wants Stewart to be a reliever, then send him down and put him in line with our 5 guys who throw harder have better stuff and are ready
  10. Ah the great debate with Joe. Big spot, great hit, clutch. But if it were not for some questionable calls, he would be on first base, more than willingly. Best in MLB with RISP this year. Kind of sums up Joe, always a great hitter with RISP...but very willing to talk a walk with RISP too. It worked out great tonight.
  11. Option 2 should not be an option based off 2 weeks. Option 1 or 3 are fine with me. There is no way I want the Twins to bring him back as a starter. It's most likely Gordon will not be ready by next year at the start, so I don't mind the idea of brining someone in for a year, just not LoFo.
  12. Don't know what else Gonzalvez has to do...I suppose Stewart will get another start....
  13. LoMo has actually seemed like a decent dude. Not sure if he has contributed to the clubhouse "issues" that now have been reported and collaborated by beat writers. However....He has had the worst batting average for any twins player in our long history with over 300 at bats in a season. Landing on the DL is not only mercy for him, but for all of us.
  14. There is no way in any baseball world that Stewart deserves a start at the MLB level. Especially over Gonzalves or Romero. He's been mostly a failure. I am a fan of the FO, but this year they have left me scratching my head. They have not reigned in the MOY with his bullpen usage, which is a real thing, and moves like this make no sense. None.
  15. HIldy has pitched in 7 of the last 10 games I think. Also Cave has been a nice player, but the longer run he gets in center field the less I like him there, brutal first inning.
  16. Nick, I am glad you mentioned Kepler and brought up that he has been very disappointing. I am very worried about him at this point. Hoping Wade gets some run this year not just in September
  17. Gordon another donut...is it time to put him back at AA? He's still a very good prospect, but he literally cannot get a hit at AAA. All kids go through ups and downs, but his confidence has to be in a bad spot...I'm worried.
  18. Anyone else think Nick Gordon is in trouble right now? Not only is he struggling at the plate, he's not getting deep in counts. Very few walks. Not good.
  19. Dozier has been a great player for the twins, at a huge discount vs. his value. But the love for him has to stop after this year's contract. He's been a great player for the price. moving forward you must consider that he's been the worst hitter in twins history in close or late at bats. That's a real thing He's one of the worst in MLB history. that is also real. Maybe that is because Gardy and Molly always had him leading off, I don't know. It's time to let him go and get whatever we can. He's not the camel that stirs the straw, it's the young players and we counted on them and they have let us down this year. Time to trade a 31 year old guy. Let it go. It is what it is.
  20. Wow, nice site! So if he's around 91 currently, how is it that we are assuming he will be affective? I think Erv has always thrown around 94. Seth I know you thought he could get by on his wiles (in another post), but I think he needs that velocity to be effective. I guess we will find out. Hope he pitches against the Royals first...Might not go so well against the BoSox.
  21. What was he throwing against the Yankees in the play off game? Is there a way to look that up? I'd be curious to see that
  22. Love your semi optimism, but as long as LoMo, Grossman, Kepler, Cave ( we will see on him), are regulars, and our hammering the few guys in the bullpen, this team cannot, I mean cannot beat average or better teams. It is time to sell.
