  1. Gets the big picture=Doogie Wolfson? lmao. Wolfson's biggest sports contribution was a drunken meltdown on the Gophers Rivals board where he challenged other posters to fights.
  2. I don't hate any of their broadcasters, nor do I think any of them are Vin Scully. So I like the multiple broadcaster approach with different opinions.
  3. One could also argue after a very nice September, now is the time for a mental break from the game?
  4. I'm sorry we all seem to disagree with you Mr. Walker.
  5. I think he's a better fit at 1B. Our OF was the worst I've seen in my life before these three came up.
  6. His arm is fine, I'm not sold on him in RF. I don't care much for defensive metrics.
  7. If you are talking about 2018 and beyond, Kepler needs to be considered as well.
  8. The defense in the outfield is much better, but Kepler is not a good defensive outfielder. In 2019, he needs to be in the mix at 1B if he keeps progressing. Mauer will be off the books and the Twins should know by then about Vargas and Park.
  9. I don't see much if anything about the "Twins Way" these days. They don't play defense, they walk a lot of batters. Besides Buxton they are not overly fast. They strikeout an embarrassing amount without walking all that much. The current Twins look more like the old White Sox teams the Twins used to toy with.
  10. They will always list to offers, I would have to think they would reach other to other teams as well, even if their intent is keep Santana and Dozier. That's only doing due diligence. I suspect we only hear about 1% of this.
  11. I agree to a point. We do not need to see any Sano in RF projects again. I'm actually concerned about Kepler in RF. I'd like to see him at 1B in a couple years.
  12. And will any of us truly know if they do shop them?
  13. Which still could be better seasons than who we will be replacing him with. I also suspect he;d be pitching more innings than his replacement. There cannot be as many 2,3,4 inning starts as there have been this year. I get the notion of trading him due to fears about injury or performance drop off, but seriously the Twins need every pitcher they can.
  14. I really miss the days of the Twins caring about defense. They've become the White Sox team that those Twins teams used to own.
  15. I'd say it's pretty lucky Santiago and Berrios improve their numbers. It would be hard not to.
  16. I get selling high on Santana, but do we really want a staff with an ace of Gibson?
  17. I haven't heard of 222 pitches before, but throwing multiple games and ton's of pitches in town ball is not out of the ordinary. I'm a board member on our town ball team, when the playoffs near, you see some crazy stuff. When my son was 14 in two years ago, we played a game against Lake City. Lake City had a 14yr old left hander who threw fairly hard, and threw 157pitches in that game. That bothered me a lot, he wasn't an adult, his body wasn't fully developed like a 20+ town ball player.
  18. And posters over at "Angels Daily" are up in arms about it as the new guy gets a look over their version of Wheeler.
  19. No, you are talking about a 26 yr old versus a 22 year old.
  20. People are upset that the Twins called up a different player a week earlier? This, like the Arcia and Vargas backlash seems like people needed to vent for venting sake.
  21. That and thinking all minor leaguers will magically post the same results in the show. Or that the players are not robots. As others have said, now is certainly not the time. I don't think September is either, but that would at least be a more defendable position.
  22. Vargas swing looks a lot longer to me lately, and it seems like he is swinging and missing more often. Ten days to get at-bats since he isn't get many with the big club seems okay to me. Plouffe is a known asset, but they are proving he is healthy just in case there is a suitor. In Sept. we will see if Molitor plays the younger guys more if Plouffe isn't dealt.
  23. Interesting points and data using Santiago. Too small of a sample size to go off of though in my opinion.
  24. People are getting worked up about optioning Vargas for 10 days?
