  1. That, and I hate the "contact play." Always leads to an out at home it seems.
  2. He still has to put the team in the best position to win given the resources he has to work with...
  3. But roster construction is flawed: The back-end of the BP can't be trusted in close games Extended absences from Correa or Buxton greatly weaken the defense, even with the ability of players to play multiple positions. You don't band-aids at SS and CF. Situational awareness rears its ugly head both in the field and on the bases more often than it should. So far the team is talented enough to overcome the bad games, but using players out of position could catch up to them sooner rather than later.
  4. Bellinger beats a good throw to first, Lee should have just held the ball. However, Lee didn't serve up the HR, Pablo did. Martin misplayed an out into a triple allowing a run to score, which was then followed by a wild pitch allowing another run to score. Should still be 3-2 at this point. And I say 3-2 because Kepler should have thrown Busch out at he plate, that throw was horrible, especially from 120 feet. Vazquez's HR would have tied the game and Dobnak would not have been out there for the 8th to give up another run. Little mistakes snowballed what should have been a tie game into a 6-2 deficit and Rocco throwing in the towel. This kind of baseball does not play well, if at all, in October.
  5. Soooo, Martin gets to play CF again after muffing a play into a triple that an average HS OF catches. Can they put 4 OF's out there because Martin is going to need help with Ryan on the bump...
  6. Boston held on to beat KC tonight, a win tomorrow and Boston moves up to the 3rd WC.
  7. At least the Red Sox held on against KC, a win tomorrow and they move ahead of KC for the last WC. Now if Arizona can sweep Cleveland tomorrow...
  8. Other teams on the base paths against the Twins. https://fb.watch/tOBomks7CX/
  9. So, a bad throw by Kepler and a very catchable triple are the difference in the game...
  10. LHP or not, a "sore" Buxton, Larnach and Wallner are better options than Martin and Margot.
  11. Career slash line: .232/.314/.432 (.746 OPS) 2024 slash line: .229/.312/.451 (.763 OPS) His hot and cold streaks pretty much average out, let's just hope he's hot when the team needs it most (October)...
  12. I think the goal needs to be 2 of 3 against the Cubs, split with Cleveland and 2 of 3 against KC. 3 of 4 against Cleveland would be awesome, but not if it comes at the expense of losing to the Cubs or KC.
  13. I was being sarcastic (my phone lets me use emoji's but my laptop does not)...
  14. Well, Buxton did K 50% of the time and Lewis 35.5% of the time while on their rehab assignments, so maybe!!
  15. I see Julien was mentioned as having a multi-hit game (2), but not for having multiple K's (3). For the series he was 8-25 (.320 BA) with 5 BB's (.433 OBP) and 2 doubles (.400 SLG), but also had 13 K's (43.3%). Progress for sure, but tempered with frustration.
  16. Ryan and Ober should not pitch on the same day (Friday) since there is no day off until the 22nd. The team would need a BP game sometime during the KC series, probably started by Dobnak.
  17. When Ober's good, he' very good; when he's bad, he's horrible. 15 GS allowing 3 R or less - 94 IP, 21 ER, 2.01 ERA, 9 HR, 104/22 K/BB, team record 9-6 5 GS allowing 4 R or more - 20 IP, 27 ER, 12.15 ERA, 8 HR, 17/5 K/BB, team record 2-3
  18. https://puckettspond.com/posts/yankees-twins-max-kepler-trade-offer/partners/36534
  19. Lewis almost HBP, Buxton HBP. Opposing pitchers not afraid to throw high and inside knowing Twins pitchers won't retaliate.
  20. He kinda has been....just not all of them are getting called as such!!
