  1. They had to fill 3B with Urshela and Rendon (again) both being hurt.
  2. HP umpire struggling a little bit, Twins lose Taylor because of it.
  3. Anybody watching that can explain why Rocco got ejected??
  4. Understand that Taylor is a known product, but he's putting on a pretty good showcase for other teams right now and possibly pricing himself above what the Twins might be will to pay. I am not about wishful thinking, but this is not a good situation going forward if all Buxton can do is DH. 6.5 more years of the DH being tied up by one player is not ideal. IF Rodriguez stays at CF he's at least 2 years away, if not 3. No other MLB ready prospect plays CF except Celestino, which would make signing Taylor a good move, but I covered that already. A trade or FA signing as a stop gap is not ideal, but that may be the course of action the team may have to take if Buxton can't play CF.
  5. The 27th player, a bullpen arm, afforded by a double-header may help the team as Maeda will almost assuredly not make it to the 5th.
  6. The best CF option 2024 and forward is Buxton. If he can't do it, this team is in trouble because it does not need 1 player filling the DH role full-time (this rings true for this year also, but I digress). There is enough talent coming through the system (if they reach their potential) that clogging the DH with 1 player means someone is playing out of position, sitting on the bench or stuck in AAA.
  7. It would appear as though his mind is still in Paris because it does not appear to be RF...
  8. I don't believe it, a sac bunt followed by a GW hit...
  9. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/06/triston-mckenzie-shut-down-for-several-weeks-with-ucl-sprain.html
  10. Those charts they use can get confusing, messed me up before also!!
  11. I think you did the math wrong, According to BaseballReference.com: Total HR = 91 Total runs = 313 Solo HR =52; 52 runs 1B occupied =12; 24 runs 2B occupied = 9; 18 runs 3B occupied = 1; 2 runs 1B & 2B occupied = 8; 24 runs 1B & 3B occupied = 6; 18 runs 2B & 3B occupied = 2; 6 runs Bases Loaded = 1; 4 runs Totals: Solo = 52 1 on = 44 2 on = 48 3 on = 4 Total = 148 runs 148/313 = 47.3% runs scored via the HR.
  12. Missed the Gallo K in between, my bad. Solano ended it with a whimper and whine anyway.
  13. Back to back walks, does this constitute a rally??
  14. And there's #10!! Who had Castro in the poll?
  15. The ever popular 1-2-3 DP to get out of the inning...
  16. Well, batters 1-5 are a collective 0-14 with 1 BB and 6 K's, so there's that....
  17. C'mon man! The 6-9 hitters are 5-11, 3 runs, 3 RBI, 1 HR and only 2 K's
  18. Granted he plays for the BoSox and came from the Dodgers, but Verdugo has Minnesota ties. I graduated high school in International Falls 2 years after his mom, a year ahead of one of his uncles and played slow pitch softball for several years with another of his uncles. Got to know his dad a little bit watching/playing pool with his grandfather, my dad and several other "old" guys at the VFW this past winter.
  19. Lopez didn't walk Refsnyder (Duran was 3-3 w/3 2Bs against him though) or serve up the 0-2 cookie to Verdugo...
  20. Bullpen (Moran) failure again. This team can't help but continue to shoot itself in the foot.
  21. Rocco managing for Boston, guy is 3 for 3 and he gets pinch hit for....
  22. xBA was .750, good positioning/defense by Boston/Verdugo
  23. Sometimes I wonder if Watkins knows what he his doing out there, there have been more than just a few head-scratching plays with sending/holding runners the last couple of seasons.
  24. I think Buxton should have checked his ego at the door and went to St. Paul for a 3 or 4 game rehab, same with Kepler. Gallo and Farmer both did, or are they under different rules because they haven't been in the system for 10 years.
