  1. Credit to Rocco, I didn't think this team had a 10 game win streak in them.
  2. He's a good pitcher, he'll be fine. All pitchers have good/bad streaks. Unless he's injured, there's nothing to worry about.
  3. I have to say I really like the Jackson pick. Obviously, Turner and McCarthy are more important but watching some video of Jackson at Oregon is fun. He really seems like the type of player that fits in Flores' schemes of blitzes, press coverage, and man deep. Also seems like a decent enough tackler.
  4. I was wondering about that. Some of the value charts suggest they could get a top pick in the second and possibly a low third rounder or high fourth rounder this year as well for next year's #1. Not sure if the draft charts i looked at are accurate to what the Vikes or others actually use. That said, I'd probably try to do that to get one of DL Newton, CB McKistry, or IOL Powers-Johnson.
  5. So quick thoughts about the Central who I thought all had a good night. 1) Bears did really good. Williams might be a little overrated but Odunze is a great WR and now they have a lot of weapons to go with a pretty good defense. 2) I don't like that Detroit got Arnold. He was the best corner in the draft and falls to them late. Crazy. That defense still has holes but that's a really good player. 3) Packers got a good tackle, solid boring pick that will help. 4) Vikes got the QB KOC can work with and arguably the best defensive player going into the draft, all without giving up next years first. Pretty good day.
  6. Turner this late is a steal.
  7. Atlanta didn't tell Cousins? Wow.
  8. I think there will be too much defensive talent at 23 to trade out. This draft is insane with only offense going so far.
  9. KOC looks really happy.
  10. I really liked this pick. I think he's a prefect fit for KOC, who made Mullins look good.
  11. I've been a McCarthy guy for a while so I'm good with this pick.
  12. One pick away ...
  13. Wow. Penix. This draft is falling pretty good for us. (I'm sure I just jinxed it)
  14. Poor Maye, he's doomed there.
  15. See, I kinda liked the movie even though it bombed in the box office. Renner? Solid. Weisz? Lovely actress. Good cameo by Oscar Issac. Decent fight scenes. Solid popcorn movie.
  16. Fair enough.
  17. Depends on the overpay and the player. Frankly, I don't think Maye is going to be the next big thing, some of the scouting videos we've seen have really soured me on him. I think Williams and McCarthy will end up with the best long careers and Daniels could end up being the best player but he could also be destroyed by the coaching, depending on where he lands. I think NE is a horrific fate for any of these QBs right now and if the Giants take one ... ouch. But you've been particularly hard to nail down on pretty much everything. You've said we need a franchise QB but have waffled on who exactly - besides Mahomes - is a franchise QB. You've said that no price is too big to pick up a franchise QB but that's just hindsight. If the Vikes give up 3 first rounders and Addison to get Maye and he turns out to be a HOFer, you'll be "it was worth it" but if they give up three first rounders and Addison and he's Ryan Leaf, you'll say it was the dumbest trade of all time (and it would be). So figuring out what a realistic price is is a big part of today. From the reports out of NE, they won't trade out. So the Vikings will be getting the fourth QB - most likely McCarthy - with either a trade up or him falling. I think he falls to 11 b/c I don't think the Raiders and Broncos will jump us in line. But it could happen. I like our current FO/coaching staff. They seem to have a plan on what the team should look like and have gotten us out of cap hell pretty quickly and added some nice talent to our roster. Obviously, QB is a hole right now and it'll most likely get addressed in the draft today but I don't think they'll do a Hershel Walker trade and if that's the price, they'll skip it.
  18. Ideal - McCarthy drops to us at 11 and we get a shutdown corner at 23 (the guy from Toledo). Realistic - I think we trade up to get McCarthy and it costs us both first round picks.
  19. I don't think things are quite as bad overall as you suggest but I'm sure people in charge are aware of those concerns, to some degree. My personal feeling is that ownership doesn't realize how much fans hate the Pohlad family after all these years but that's another thread.
  20. Unless we have no starters to replace him, I can't see why (absent them thinking he isn't a starter and rather is a permanent bullpen arm) they wouldn't send him to AAA, work on some pitches, get his confidence back.
  21. Wow, I'm sure that's a song I haven't heard in decades. But nice find!
  22. I think this would make a lot of sense but I still think they'll take a QB and ruin him. They have such a hole at LT now that whoever they pick is going to be roadkill.
  23. The Twins got good value for Berrios and the trade - without further viewing - was good. However, the only reason we were able to trade Berrios was because the FO completely failed to keep the window of contention open. We should have been competitive in 2021, instead we were horrible.
  24. I would but they won't. His max innings in any season was something like 125 and he's coming off an injury. Even though he was a starter in the minors, they won't risk this. (I actually thought they should have seen what his trade value was last year).
  25. That's not really true. Under this FO, their team pitching WAR ranking has been - 2017 -24th 2018 -22nd 2019 - 4th 2020 -3rd (in a short season) 2021 - 21st 2022 - 26th 2023 - 4th That's a bit all over the map and hasn't really shown any development of a "pipeline."
