He was knocked out on the field, they showed them using smelling salts on the side line, and they let him back into the game. https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/josh-allen-bills-concussion-protocol-slam-head-reaction small edit - I joked that the NFL was going to scrub the play but there are very few videos of it outside of tiktok or twitter. NFL.com has about 20 plays from the game plus the highlight reel and this play isn't one of them. Here's a youtube of it with a doctor's description of what happened. No idea if this guy is legit though.

Holy ****, the NFL concussion protocol failed big time in Buffalo. I suspect the NFL will quickly scrub any video of it from the internet.

My quick thoughts 1) This defense picked off Stroud twice and Love and Rodgers 3x each. It's really good. 2) I'm not overly worried about Darnold's bad game today. It was his worst but it was against a really good defense which also happened to match up well against us and he looked good until Jones was out. Darnold's also only made 6 starts the last two seasons. He's going to have games like this. The bye is coming at a good time but we shouldn't dismiss how hard it is to be 5-0. 3) Our punt ST is horrific. Nearly another muff today, a horrible roughing call, they gave up a huge return that led to points, and they had a stupid penalty that pushed us way back. Just about as bad as they could've been. 4) I didn't think there was anyway our kicker was going to make the 53 yarder in the rain. Wow. I really like him. 5) Lastly, KOC sometimes doesn't make great play calls but I think that's just the nature of his aggressive attitude. But not taking a field goal to go up 13-0 was strange and his calls right before half were really head scratching.

It's a good start. I'm curious on what they'll do at GM and can the new GM fire Rocco if he/she/they think that's the best move?

I figured four years was more than enough to gauge recent performance of the team.

Over the last four seasons, the Twins have gone 320-328, one first place finish, one third, one fourth, and one fifth. They've made one post season appearance. And we've kept Rocco, Falvey, and Lavine. Lots of reasons to expect a better team next year, right?

I get a surprising amount of schadenfreude from teams like the Browns and Raiders. DeVante Adams is pushing to get traded out of LV (might go to the Jets!) and the Browns have completely screwed that team up for years with the Watson deal. They had some pieces in place to create a really strong team on both sides and just ditched it and destroyed all the good will they had amassed from being doormats for a generation. Ouch.

No team is going to be perfect. The offense's weakness is the interior line but it's still a strong line. Top 10 by most accounts right now. That they can't do a dive play for a yard is troubling but things could be worse. Remember, KC won the super bowl with sub-standard tackles, the Bills receiving corp is still somewhat suspect, Dallas is built wrong, etc. The other issue is partly KOC - his strength as a play caller is not having any fear. But that creates problems, he thinks whatever we call can work so a jet sweep to the short side of the field on 4-1? No problem. I think KOC is a great play caller and a huge, huge asset to the team but he'll make some pretty weird play calls at time - remember when he wanted Cook to jump shot a pass into the endzone against Buffalo?

The Ravens destroyed Buffalo 35-10. The NFL is tough. I think Buffalo is one of the top three teams in the league but winning on the road against good teams is really hard. This is what the NFL is best at among all the big sports leagues. So I wouldn't worry too much about giving up 22 points in the fourth quarter to GB. We won, we're a good team. Enjoy the season. The playoff loss at home to the Bucs will come soon enough.

Well, I've been against this FO for a few seasons now. They've been given a lot of advantages and always managed to under perform except for 2019. Now we came in fourth in the AL Central - somehow - and I thought that should be the final nail. Alas. The reality is, I don't really care anymore. I barely follow the Twins. The TV mess combined with horrible owners, complaints about fans from FO folks (St. Peter), and a boring on-field product, I've checked out. Before the season, I said we had the potential to have a strong offense and, sometimes, that was clear. But I also said the pitching was going to be bad and, while it was actually better than I expected, it was 10th in era and just wasn't good enough. So I think Falvey should be gone. But, really, I want a complete clean start. No matter who the FO has been - Ryan, Smith, Favine - the constant has been the Pohlads. I want them gone. -
