  1. They had some good two minute drives this season as well. I really don't think the offense was the problem today although some of the play-calling was bad. But we scored 27 against a pretty good defense. And even special teams wasn't horrible today. But the defense is really bad. Kendricks makes a big difference, I guess.
  2. I'll guess one.
  3. It's 2020 and Nick is still complaining about Terry Ryan. Good lord, move on man.
  4. Blair Walsh is available
  5. This news made me surprisingly happy. Good for them. I like the Spiders but I doubt that happens.
  6. This loss hurt. The officiating was pretty bad - I swear to god, they stopped the game clock early - and the Vikings were the better team yet loss pretty big. Our offense is wrong but I can't quite figure out why. Aikman said it reminded him a bit of the Cowboys offense when he was QB - they were a running team that was pretty good at passing. But we don't have that OL and Cook ain't Emmitt. I think they need to pass more to keep some of the wear and tear off of Cook and move a bit faster. We had three full possessions in the first half? Maybe four. And we got a TD and a few missed FG. We had too many long drives that netted us nothing. Seems like we should get a lead before we concentrate on 10 minute drives. I dunno. I'm certainly not smart enough to coach a football team. The two PI penalties were pretty demoralizing. The Bucs first drive of the second half was brutal and the defense didn't seem to do anything. I figured we were dead at that point. Good on them for getting back into the game a bit later. Looks like we will finish 8-8 and miss the playoffs. I think there is something wrong with the coaching theory. I'd like a young fresh offensive mind on the team but that doesn't look likely.
  7. That was a really ****ed up half of football
  8. My wife loves Disney and when it was falling during the pandemic I said, hey, it's at 90, you should buy more for your IRA. She said sure. I found out today that she didn't.
  9. I've generally been supportive of Zimmer as a defensive minded guy but I remember a funny story that came up when he was hired. Essentially, it was "why with all his defensive success in the NFL, with his ties to great coaches, with his ability to get quick turn arounds, was he just now getting his first HC job? Shouldn't he have had a few opportunities earlier? Answer: He's a bit of an ***hole." This article seems to support that and seems to suggest that Zimmer's teams have ceilings because of his my way or the highway attitude. https://heavy.com/sports/minnesota-vikings/bills-stefon-diggs-justin-jefferson-trade/?fbclid=IwAR1OOT0Q0oZ1qX_8IN7xzba7ZQkojcq927VMyq7P8iDa_b0CnGin3NynvYw
  10. 1) Cousins has been playing pretty darn good for a while now. He's not the problem. But I really don't like our play calling at all and we're running Cook into the ground. Something has to get fixed there. 2) I'm running out of words to describe special teams. What the hell has happened? 3) I think Dantzler and Gladney are going to be really good corners for us, maybe as early as next year. Hopefully, someone else steps up (Boyd, Hill, Hughes) and we might be close to a really good secondary again. 4) Our OL was a problem again. I wonder if they are wearing down? O'Neil had a bad game. Reiff has been pretty good, I guess. But it was a pretty bad game against a pretty awful team. I think we make the playoffs and pull of a first round upset and get blown out the next week.
  11. I think the Vikes make the playoffs and have a first week upset followed by a blow out loss. Seems very Zimmer-like. I really wonder what this team would have looked like if Pierce didn't opt out. Our run defense is really bad but could he have made it respectable?
  12. Best of luck to him wherever he lands
  13. I don't think he was faking an injury.
  14. NIce win, a few thoughts 1) Cousins is having a nice year. He's not the reason we are 5-6. 2) It's nice to watch a game where we can look at the other team and say "Ha ha, we outcoached you!" All the Panthers had to do was run out the clock. 3) I think it's been 20+ years since our special teams were this bad. 4) I'm more worried about our DL's ability to stop the run then our young corners. Good thing the Panthers coaching staff stopped running wildly down our throats. 5) The Vikings are going to ride Cook into early retirement. He's great but he's not Emmitt Smith or Earl Campbell. They need to use Mathison more.
  15. I'm still surprised we lost that game. The officiating was horrible and the play calling on offense was a bit iffy. But I still figured we would win. To win, Dallas had to convert a 4th and six and we also had two almost interceptions on that last drive. 2020 sucks.
  16. https://www.investors.com/news/amd-stock-twilio-stock-novocure-stock-flashing-buy-signals/?src=A00220 Likes NVCR and OKTA, one of Mike's picks. I passed on AMD a while back and still regret it.
  17. Good lord, our special teams has been awful. It would be the most Viking thing ever to make the playoffs and then lose a playoff game because of special teams.
  18. I did. Thank you. Bought a little bit of SNAP as well.
  19. Yeah, this hire makes no sense. Society has changed and the younger players aren't going to respond well to him. This will end worse than Gibbs back to coach the Washington Football Team.
  20. I think the Vikes have a few old key players but are generally pretty young over all. And the OL has looked better lately. Cleveland had some really nice moments. I'm not sure if the Vikings have a replacement for Smith and he really is having another nice season but the young corners are showing promise and some of the young linemen - esp when Hunter is back next year - could be pretty good. I'm not sure what to make of this team but I think it's probably more or less what we've seen from Zimmer. If they make the playoffs they will have a puncher's chance against anyone but they are unlikely to put together three straight games. But making the playoffs and knocking out the Saints again might be worth it for me.
  21. Oh, I thought you were going with a phonetic thing.
  22. I've had pfizer in my IRA for a few years now, mostly b/c of the dividend reinvestment (I love dividends). It hasn't been a great stock, really, but it's a decent enough longterm stock that I'm not worried about it either. (Just a random note, but my wife has held Coke in her IRA for a five years now and man, does that dividend reinvestment work). I'm way over exposed to big banks (WFC, USB) which hurt a bit although the little I have in tech (MSFT, ROKU) this year offset that. We now have a pretty big cash pile - roughly 20% of our holdings - so we will probably make a few big buys in a while. I'm sure one will be a conservative index fund but I'm not sure about the other. We don't own Apple or Amazon, for instance, but danged if I can figure out if this is a good jump in point. A week ago, I was ready to jump in on MC but I waited too long.
  23. I liked Maeda and think he will be a solid starter for us. SSS really makes this year strange. Over 30 starts, I imagine Berrios will usually be better.
  24. Stock market soaring on the news of Biden's win. Reaches all-time high. The last nine months have convinced me that I will never understand the market.
  25. I don't want us to tank. This team could quite realistically have been 4-3 right now instead of 2-5. I'm enjoying watching the young secondary improve and watching Cook. I don't need them to win a super bowl to enjoy this, I just don't want to watch horrible sports.
