  1. I mean, I guess they're trying to avoid injury. I guess. But its counterproductive.
  2. Even the starters aren't prepared to be starters. Festa topped out at 102 IP in any minor league season. 92 IP in 24 games in 2023. 92, ferpetesakes. Starters go 4 or 5 innings once a week. Pretty much never throw even 100 pitches. How the heck do they imagine that prepares anyone for any kind of MLB career?
  3. I so want to like Wallner as a player. Part of that is just sheer desperation for anything resembling a good MLB hitter to join the Twins. But he sure is testing my patience.
  4. There are many issues, but I don't think Baldelli is "low hanging fruit." His management is one of the core basic issues with this organization. Not the only one, to be sure. But one that certainly needs correction.
  5. Your actual quote was "fundamentally awful AB." And you spent roughly 10000 words telling us he was fooled. On a pitch he put in play for a single. Refusing to admit what your eyes saw because it would somehow put Baldelli and analytics in a poor light. [edited] For the record, everyone else here is more than welcome to make age jokes at my expense. Its fun and harmless. But not you.
  6. Wow. Don't get all huffy now just cause it was a ridiculous take. You could just admit you were wrong.
  7. Slider to K Churio was a big league pitch.
  8. Where's @chpettit19to tell me that weak ground ball single through the hole to right was a "failed AB?" I'd call it a great piece of hitting.
  9. Dunno whether Larnach should have tried to score on the ball in the dirt, but I know this: Correa should have been on 2nd. Piss poor baserunning.
  10. Festa got lucky on the third out. The runner at 2nd had 3rd stolen without a throw. Its just ridiculous how unprepared this team is to handle any running game. Its an indictment of management. And it just continues to fester. Zero indication anyone at any level even notices, much less tries to do anything about it.
  11. After a bunt single. Milwaukee has embarrassed the Twins all weekend. But never fear, the Twins won't change a thing.
  12. He topped out at 103.2 IP in any year in his minor league career. And the Twins expect him to step into MLB rotation For me its hard to understand what the theory is.
  13. Hell of an AB from Buck, came back from down 0-2.
  14. Bonus! Festa gets to start with the 6-9 hitters!
  15. Contreras starts at catcher all 3 games for the Brewers. Rocco and the Twins consider filing a complaint with the NLRB.
  16. We know at least one cant be bothered to run to 1st on a dropped third strike.
  17. Focusing on one error by one player in one game seems to me to miss a lot, but to each his own.
  18. Maybe because Bader making a one-off error that he probably never made before and probably will never make again is multiple orders of magnitude less of a factor in what ails this organization. Organizational philosophy and execution is where the focus should be.
  19. This was a low point for me. I've ranted on this before... watching teams run at will on the Twins is irritating. But what sends my blood pressure through the roof is the arrogance of this organization. They long ago came to the conclusion that baserunning isn't important, and by God no amount of evidence to the contrary will change their minds. After all, you don't need to actually play baseball these things are decided by spreadsheet. Pitchers dont know how to hold runners and the concept is ignored. We NEVER pitch out. We never change our catcher's stance...one knee on the ground no matter what. Meanwhile, we stand around on base and wait for the inevitable GDP . Add in lackluster effort, clumsy at best defense, and one indifferent AB after another, and this team bottomed out today. But let's just keep the management in place.
