  1. My memory just ain't what it used to be...when are taxes due?
  2. Conversely, 1, 38, and 4,599 are all letters.
  3. Me, I'm pretty tired of the Twins "trying" players. I want them to start "playing" players. Good players. Players capable of winning. I don't want to wait around endlessly for Danny Santana to try to get good at baseball. I don't want to waste more years thinking Gibson is going to develop skills he doesn't have. And I don't want to take a guy successful at one thing and waste a year or two trying to for something else. Find succesful starters. That's how you fill out the rotation.
  4. IMO this isn't even a question. Was, is, and will be effective as a reliever, doesn't have the tools to be an effective starter. Increase his leverage, and leave well enough alone.
  5. Huh, it's ash, and it's not even Wednesday. A miricle!
  6. He's without a contract on April 12th. To quote one of my favorites, Dwight Yoakam, "Baby, things change."
  7. It bothers me our new front office couldn't see this a week ago. One of Haley, Breslow, or Tonkin should be gone immediately. I'd jettison Breslow. Leave Duffey in the pen where he has always belonged. Get Vargas here. And while we're at it, find a useful player to take the wasted spot of Danny Santana. It felt like he was in the lineup today only because Molitor has to "work guys in." He offers nothing. It should have been Park out of spring training, but if not him (I know he's got a hamstring thing right now), then go get a RH hitting OF option. Particularly since the guy who should be the RH fourth outfielder can't play OF and is somehow needed to DH.
  8. I didn't think you were YOUNG enough to remember Arte Johnson. Say goodnight, Dick.
  9. Sorry, I haven't been able to keep up with the game thread. I am volunteering at a local elementary school. I asked the class what their favorite letter is, and a little lad's hand shot up and he answered "G!" I was happy to get some participation from the class, so I thought I'd give him a chance to explain. "And why is that, Angus?"
  10. Not to mention the opportunity for a non refundable boom daddy to the chin when called for.
  11. In his defense, Oil Can Boyd is 57 years old, so that ERA is actually rather impressive.
  12. Just like you...point to the rare occasions you were right, and not your numerous WILDLY wrong embarrassments...
  13. The most encouraging thing to me has been the pitching and infield defense. I complain about Mauer a lot, but he has turned himself into a really good 1st baseman, and Polanco has looked pretty good.
  14. This talk reminds me...what did the Dalai Lama say when he walked into the pizza parlor? ... "Can you make me one with everything?" ... //too cheezy?//
  15. I loved the starting pitching...wish Santana could start 3 of every 5 games.
  16. Molitor's most difficult and impactful decision wasn't the lineup, it was leaving Santana in to finish the top of the 7th. Not sure I like it, but it worked, and I cut him some slack given his bullpen.
  17. Software is having trouble processing a late Twins lead.
  18. This one, on the other hand, made me smile.
