  1. Of course. Managers dont turn 60 win teams into 90 win teams. Or vice versa. Talent level ultimately matters most. But I believe managers have the biggest single influence on whether a team under or over achieves that talent level. Not just "marginal" either. Turning an 85 win team into a 92 win team, or a 78 win team, seems to me totally reasonable. I would say Baldelli has been at least that bad. Lots of little things add up.
  2. I am in favor of a floor as well as a cap.
  3. "Increase revenue sharing." There's a reason the Green Bay Packers can compete on even ground for players with the LA Rams. I say bust the union because that's what it'll take. And the MLBPA has long since outlived it's usefulness. It was once necessary for fairness and equity. Now it's just a hindrance to competition.
  4. Personally I think a team's manager is the single most important individual factor in winning or losing. I don't know how many games that equals. But whether the team should be winning 60 games or 100 based on talent, the manager has more influence on how close.they come to that level than any single player. Easily. Hes responsible for a lot.
  5. Bull****. Most people here calling for a new manager do so based on observing piss poor play from his team, over years long time periods Calling out individual examples of said poor play on a daily basis doesn't mean otherwise.
  6. What a world we live in, where some people rejoice in tanking. Awful.
  7. Busting the MLBPA would be the single best thing to happen to MLB in decades. Neutering the NFLPA pushed the NFL ahead miles.
  8. How the heck is "playing hard" not a cultural issue, Nick? Ditto "competing?" "Holding each other accountable?" These are 100 percent culture. They are choices made. Behaviors allowed, or not allowed. Corrected or ignored. Compounded or eliminated. Rewarded or punished. Winning doesn't cause you to run out ground balls. But running out every ground ball certainly contributes to winning. Now multiply "running out ground balls" by 100 behaviors. 1000. This nonsense that everything that matters can be measured on a spreadsheet is part of the problem with this organization.
  9. Bust the MLBPA, increase revenue sharing, install a floor and cap within $50M of each other. Make it about who identify, train and coach the best players. Like the NFL.
  10. So much wrong in one post, but I'll just focus on this: "The last few years we limped into October only to get bounced right away..." The Twins have made it into October once since 2020. Once. Limp or not. It's kinda hard to take anything you say seriously when you don't even know their record. Or call Buxton "young" for that matter.
  11. Let's hope Culpepper turns into a major league SS. Because we don't have one and Brooks Lee isn't going to magically turn into one. Pretending he's "improving" based on a good game is just fanboy fantasy. You have to give Lewis another year, but hopes are dimming. Twins aren't going anywhere in 2026 anyway so let him have (hopefully) a full healthy year to see if he can rebound. Hes been awful for a year now.
  12. This is Outman's final option year, so he'll need to be on the 26 man all year next year or exposed to waivers. Carrying outfielders that don't hit doesn't help anybody. My guess is he's not on the 40 man roster opening day.
  13. Tough to consider the current situation anything but a disaster. Even tougher to see any way 2026 isn't another one.
  14. Does Lewis have a professional do his eyeblack,?
  15. Ask no quarter and give none, my friend.
