  1. Dunno about MVP, but he was legit very good. And agreed, it wasn't just a hot 3 weeks. That said, his second half last year seems rather out of place.
  2. Came into the game with a .077/.077/.077 slash line.
  3. "We played Tuesday. We played yesterday. We play today, that's called a few in a row"
  4. Just over a dollar per game broadcast, I believe.
  5. Boy, they spared no expense on that "plaque" commemorating the "Dick Bremer Broadcast Booth," did they?
  6. Anybody see on CNN the tragic ship crash? One huge tanker carrying blue paint crashed into another huge tanker carrying red paint. All the sailors were marooned.
  7. I'm still laying 3-2 Santana leads the Twins in PAs this year. It's only 5 games, but I'd win the bet so far.
  8. Yeah, screwed by those awful umps. They ruled him out when he was clearly and inarguably out. Bastards!
  9. With all due respect, you are just pulling numbers put of thin air. As shown by ITF above. Ignoring the fact there's 5 other months to consider besides just September, you're going to have to explain to me why 87 wins is the sweet spot to attract September fans, but 100 isn't better. And for the record, let's assume 15 September home games. If they DID attract an extra 10000 per game, that's 150,000. Not 500,000.
  10. At the risk of beating this horse further into the ground... Your contention is the Twins--in contrast to their stated goals and obvious needs--didn't add any starting pitching this past winter. With the one trade they made. Do I have that correct?
  11. Seattle was trying to cut payroll by adding payroll? Seattle was trying to add an infielder they'd long been interested in. The Twins were trying to add a starter. The rest is filler.
  12. Heck, I'm generally a platoon advantage guy. I think LH pitching has been tough for every LH hitter in the history of baseball. But...even if one believes that, taking Julien out for a dubious RH hitter that early just about guarantees Margot is getting 1 or 2 ABs later giving up the platoon advantage. Maybe Julien wont hit LH pitching, ever. But I'm pretty confident Julien against RH pitching is a better hitter than Margot against a lefty. Don't do it.
  13. I'll also be happy to make my daily rant about removing good hitters for bad hitters for a 1 time platoon advantage in the middle innings. It just means you're getting worse platoon mismatches later.
  14. Looks like I'll miss the home opener. A couple months ago I saw a robbery go down at an Apple store. I have to testify in court tomorrow. ... That's right. I'm the prosecution's key Iwitness.
