  1. LOL. Following this logic, we should trade Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Lewis, Julien, and Buxton, too. That'd really set up the future.
  2. Newsflash: they didn't trade for Burnes. Or anyone else. Desclafani was it. Written in ink. Done deal. Counted on.
  3. He was written in ink as one of the five starters the minute the Mariners gleefully agreed to the trade. Also, "the lack of any other starter moves makes it seem like a bigger deal than it is"... Wow, what a bad take. Among other things, it completely invalidates the rest of your post.
  4. A) we had Manny Margot at DH in a game already, yet Polanco was totally redundant?? (B) 100 percent? Stop it.
  5. I agree...Polo wasn't any kind of realistic 3b option. But he'd look a whole lot better at DH than Manny Mar-gone. There was room on this roster for Polanco. You wouldn't need Santana, for one thing. No reason he couldn't play 1B. And if he needed trading, there was a better return out there than DeSclafani, a 30+ yr old reliever with zero history, and an A ball outfielder.
  6. If by impressive you mean dealt away a good MLB everyday player for potentially nothing of any use for the 2024 Twins, then yeah, quite impressive.
  7. Twins desperately need to add starting pitching. Everyone, EVERYone knows this. Twins make crappy trade for dubious starter. BTW, the only starter added, all winter. Twins apologists: "This wasn't a trade for a starter." C'mon. Seriously?
  8. Nitpic: the player profile listing name, age, ht/wt, school, Etc often doesn’t match the narrative. For example, player 1, Bazzana, lists him at 5'9", 170. Start reading and he's grown to 6'0" 200.
  9. It looks pretty uninspiring, is how it looks. Byproduct of the lack of legit pitching prospects, gutting the MLB salary, getting fleeced in the Polanco trade, and lack of any other offseason attempt to bolster the rotation. My personal guess is SWR would be the first callup, but as jorganswest notes above, timing will most likely matter. And more than one of these four will almost surely get MLB starts anyway, so who is first probably isn't all that important.
  10. Speaking only for myself, I'm not blaming thr offense for giving up 11 runs today. However, I think it's fair to have concerns with the offense.
  11. Incredible catches? The triple from Witt would have been caught by most MLB CFers.
  12. Again I say, the offense is performing at exactly the level Ober did.
  13. If you look up "meltdown" in the dictionary, there's a play by play of this inning
  14. Funderburk's control every bit as solid as his past suggests.
  15. Ober's day no worse than the offense so far.
  16. Holy cow. Don't often see a guy get hit THIS hard.
  17. I've got an Easter bunny in the smoker.
  18. A big league CFer catches that.
  19. No shame in having noted slugger Kyle Isbel take you deep, Bailey.
  20. Martin needs a little veteren assistance in applying eyeblack.
