    Men on base for the homeruns makes so much difference. The Buxton and Kepler opposite field hits (with very low velocity) made a tight game into a borderline blowout.

    I've been off the site for a week or so due to a combination of a visit by my 2-year-old granddaughter (who proceeded to test positive for covid shortly after arriving) and a general boredom/disgust for the Twins' performances of late. I might watch a few minutes today, but for me the H0F ceremony for Kaat is great, and well-deserved. And it does not involve players making hundreds of thousands of dollars per appearance striking out and grounding into double plays to kill rallies.

    But then, the algorithms didn't figure in that the Twins are exceedingly proficient at stranding multiple runners who get on with no outs!

    There are few sights more pleasant to Twins fans (at least this one) than unhappy White Sox fans.

    The team looks a little tired. And, quite honestly, I'm a little tired of them too. They need someone or something to get them pumped up. (Apparently two walk-off wins did not do the trick.) I don't know what the answer is, but they have 2-3 of these really "blah" games every week.

    Yes, me too! For many years I have celebrated the sabbath by doing our laundry religiously on Sunday mornings! I took over the job years ago because I didn't like the way my wife folded my underwear, but that's another story!

    and don't stop until you reach, say, Jupiter!

    And my recollection is that it is up to the Twins until the first pitch. They certainly don't want Gray to pitch two innings and then get interrupted. Their choice might be different if they were sending out four-inning Archer against someone like Verlander.
