  1. I agree with RB on Berrios. What a change! I'd put Buxton at #10. I'm still leery about his offense. With his defense, yeah, he gets a break. Hoping he turns the corner soon. A .5 WAR is below scrub-level.
  2. From this mornings Strib: SEATTLE – Hector Santiago played catch Wednesday, and said he felt fine. “Not great, not as good as I want it to be, but OK,” the lefthander said. “I could go out and pitch right now.” I would have yanked him right then.....
  3. http://i.imgur.com/S3pXwoW.gif What can I tell ya, I have problems evolving......
  4. Two things on my Twins Checklist: Start running those highly thought of MiLB relief pitchers through the MLB. Need to separate the contenders from the pretenders Make darn sure that Sano stays rested. We've seen what happened earlier this year.
  5. Well, there is that Kirby Puckett guy.....
  6. Hector Santiago played catch Wednesday, and said he felt fine. “Not great, not as good as I want it to be, but OK,” the lefthander said. “I could go out and pitch right now.” As some point, I'd like to see the Twins use another pitcher when your projected starter makes comments like this one...
  7. I was thinking more along this line: Teresa Brewer - (Put Another Nickel In) Music, Music, Music (1950) https://youtu.be/-gUNZAmFfKA?t=2
  8. Giants acquire Sam Dyson from Rangers, for a player to be named later. Was kinda hoping the Twins would grab him and move some of the veteran dead-weight out. If he were to come close to what he's been in the past, Dyson could have made a difference for the Twins. Still, really really liked the Rosario callup!
  9. A pitchers throwing motion is abnormal, given how a shoulder is built. A high school kid throwing 100 mph is really abnormal. I'm hoping I'm really, really wrong, but I sense TJ surgery for Greene in the not too distant future. On the other hand, if the Twins feel they have the coaching staff that can convince Greene to ease back on the fastball and put more effort into secondary pitches, I'd draft Greene in a heartbeat. In other words, I'm probably more wishy-washy than the rest of you combined!
  10. I guess I don't really care if the new FO makes a "signature" move. I'm more on the side that says: Don't do anything that could mess up the development of the young pitchers. If traded, who becomes the successful, veteran presence? Gibson, Hughes? Pulezzzz.... Would probably have to send in LaTroy Hawkins. I also don't buy into the idea that the return for Ervin would be high. I guess I'd like to hear names. I think a AA player or 2 ready to move up would be a great get. An AA player and a couple A-ballers could also get is done.
  11. Just read the same thing on MLBTR. It's the reason why he was put into DFA-land. Still, at only a 1 year contract at $3.52MM, how much of a risk is this? Notice I did not say 'only $3.52MM'
  12. Watched a few videos of Wright pitching. Seems pretty smooth. Greene seems to put a lot more effort into it. I don't think the Twins can go wrong with Wright. heh....
  13. Ranger's have designated former closer Sam Dyson for assignment. Twins management is reportedly interested. I say: run, don't walk! Seems like a good add. Levine should know best!
  14. Honestly, it was time for Wheeler to go. Not much more to be seen here. Best Wishes!

  16. Thanks, Seth! Great work! Gotta ask about the starters: Any chance of Gonsalves and Romero getting a MLB audition soon? I'm not really seeing any reason not to. 3-4 starts would/could provide some benefits.... Geez, seems like someone has put a voodoo curse on the Twins MiLB. I hope Kirilloff can turn it around quickly.
  17. I've posted this before: Hughes has a history where, after 1 good season, he gets hurt. The Yankees always put him in the bullpen to build innings. Twins should have done this in Spring Training. Kintzler has been successful for the Twins as a closer. If you want to, switching in Duffey as a co-closer is cool. Waiting to see if any relief prospect is still health. Waiting to see how Randy Rosario does....
  18. I wouldn't necessarily rule Tyler Jay out as a starter. It may be just a thing where he needs to get "stretched out" more.
  19. Good Grief, people. Are we forgetting who the Twins just played against? Houston Astros. Send up any young prospects to face that lineup, or these guys: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Vja4cA9bY8/Tewdd3Kb-EI/AAAAAAAAC9Y/4nW5XZL9vm8/s1600/lamb2.jpg

  21. At 28 yrs old and still trying to figure it out is a clarion-type warning.
  22. From what I've been reading here, there's no consensus lock on that 1:1 pick. It'll be interesting to see people with a different view of baseball making the draft decisions.
  23. I'm not surprised by the Twins losing to the Astros. They are flat-out a FAR better team. The VOLUME of those losses did. We've seen similar in the more recent World Series years: you beat the guys you're expected to beat: on the other days, you get your butts kicked. The position players are developing nicely. But there will be more ups than downs, IMHO. Pitching staff: the phrases "oh boy" and "DUCK!" come to mind. Berrios looks like a keeper now, irregardless of the perfunctory butt-kicking by the Astros. I, too, like the call up of Rosario. After 6 years of total, undeniable frustration, I'm looking at the positives this year and the future.
  24. Just got home. No game on FoxNet. Tuned into DayGame. So, it bears the question: Is it still NOT the end of the world?
