  1. As I mentioned in another threat, I have to wonder if Rosario needs more time off, just like Sano. Sano starts striking out a lot, Molitors gives him a couple days rest and Sano comes back hitting like a mad man. After reading the Zack Granite discussions over the past couple days, I'd still stay with Rosario. If Granite can get a few hits and play better defense than Grossman, hell yeah, bring him up and give Rosario the 'Sano Treatment' ! Wish I had the stats to prove all this. Just way too early in the morning....
  2. Well, in my mind, there's a big difference between fearless and foolish. That one looked to me like he should have played it off the wall. But, hindsight...... I hate going back to this well again, however: I think another call from Torii Hunter is in order. Buxton needs to start thinking long-term.
  3. Great seeing Berrios working his way through the game and pitching into the 8th. Twins bullpen really needed a day off.
  4. Yeah. Being able to see him play over the past few years, I don't know if Buxton has a read feel for where the outfield wall is. In the video above, I don't see him even looking.
  5. "The Hammer"?? No, "The Ogie" http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/image.php?u=125449&dateline=1417556742
  6. Curious: Sano seems to hit a wall after playing several in a row. After a little time off, he comes back really strong. I wonder if we're seeing the same thing in Buxton..... Concur on Rosario!
  7. Lewis' arm: I've read the same thing, too. I've also read the exact opposite. Weird...
  8. How does the drafting of Royce Lewis affect Nick Gordon? Wild guess / thinking big: If Lewis shows ANYTHING in his first season, or 2, Gordon is part of a trade to get a really good Starting Pitcher.
  9. Well, the thing is, if you don't want Boras in your clubhouse you're probably missing out on some pretty good talent. Make the player deal with Boras, with a clause: If the player is successful, you will flip him for a group of prospects. Win for the player, with for the team and a win for the Boras. :-)
  10. I've never been to a Saints game. I'm moving back to SW New Mexico shortly, so I'll miss out. They sound like a great, fun organization!
  11. Is his defense enough to cover-up his offensive failings? IMHO: no. His offense has not been trending up. Ave. is hovering around the Mendoza-line. Molitor has been benching Buxton an awful lot lately. I don't know what it will take to get Buxton rolling offensively. I hope someone can figure it out. Or maybe the old baseball adage "As the summer warms up, so will the bats" will kick in for Buxton.
  12. "Am I trying to polish a turd?" I would think the stench would have pushed you away.... I'm sorry, but this is nothing new for Gibson over the past couple years. IMHO: time to move on. Beyond that, WHAT AND OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION!! Maybe Rosario, like we've seen with Sano, just needs more time off. Escobar and Grossman getting more consistent AB's. Could be a fun Summer!
  13. I believe he has been working the system. I'd like to see him dig a little deeper. Offense and defense seem to be on the uptick. Would like to see more of those AA-AAA pitchers. Couldn't be worse that a guy who give up 6 runs in 6 innings, when he had a 8 run lead in the third....
  14. 2nd explosion for Mejia this season. Not happy with the "just didn’t have it today" narrative. It was another slaughter. Baaa, Baaa, Baaad.
  15. Falvey on his selection of Lewis. A little tidbit on Boras. http://stmedia.stimg.co/FALVEY21.JPG?w=600&h=600
  16. I feel the same about Boras. Run with Lewis as long as you can. If it ever becomes that time for Boras to start thinking about bigger contract money, you should already know it's time to trade Lewis. I'm a little tired of the Twins holding onto the "Hometown Boys".
  17. Random thoughts: First, I'd never back-off a player who had Scott Boras as an agent. We all know his MO. If the drafted player develops quickly, be prepared to trade him quick and benefit before new contract negotiations begin. 3 HS players drafted in a row. An indictment of college players? I think #2 is a real possibility. Hey, if you're not willing to play the game, stay home. Did anyone really think drafting a high school pitcher would save the Twins starting rotation next year? Or the following year, or even the year after that?
  18. A little further down in that article: "Greene, a Los Angeles suburban school standout, has the highest profile because of his blazing fastball — but indications are that the Twins have discovered some concerns as they did their due diligence on him, like the quality of his breaking pitches." So, something (or maybe more?) that we've already read about Greene. Sooo.... my question(s) is/are this: 1. Do the Twins select a pitcher with a development schedule that aligns more with the development of the current MLB team: 2. Or, do they look at the higher upside of Greene and say, "yeah, we can wait for that". I can really see this both ways. If guys like Gonslaves and Felix Jorge are on that MLB path, I'd be inclined to take Greene. If not, well I've read that the Twins are interested in McKay. Edit: That's some pretty good depth on that curve. I'm leaning more towards Greene...
  19. Thanks, Tom! I don't get to watch many games anymore. Really appreciate your write-ups. P.S. still miss Nunez....
  20. From this mornings Strib: SEATTLE – Hector Santiago played catch Wednesday, and said he felt fine. “Not great, not as good as I want it to be, but OK,” the lefthander said. “I could go out and pitch right now.” I would have yanked him right then.....
  21. http://i.imgur.com/S3pXwoW.gif What can I tell ya, I have problems evolving......
  22. Hector Santiago played catch Wednesday, and said he felt fine. “Not great, not as good as I want it to be, but OK,” the lefthander said. “I could go out and pitch right now.” As some point, I'd like to see the Twins use another pitcher when your projected starter makes comments like this one...
