  1. Wait a second! Am I the only one to notice that you used the baby face sun from the Teletubbies? The season truly has spiraled out of control.
  2. Well, third base may be troubling, but what do you do with Polanco if he can't play short? I don't see them trading Dozier to put Polanco at 2nd unless they get a treasure trove for Dozier in a trade. I don't see that happening. Trade Polanco?
  3. Twins drawing about as much interest today as....I'm sorry, got distracted by football. What was I saying?
  4. Don't mean to get off topic....we NEVER do that! But am I the only one not buying into the Dak Prescott hype? It's preseason...vanilla defenses, etc. and people are all worked up over him.
  5. but 7 percent alcohol...it's cheap when you compare the amount of alcohol.
  6. My interpretation of the letter - we have to pay him anyway so we're keeping him.
  7. I don't see ABW in the Twins future at a MLB level other than a fill in. He's not going to outperform (defensively) an outfield of Buxton, Rosario, Kepler. His only shot would be as a 4th OF instead of Grossman who is a switch hitter. His real value at AAA is to fill in if an OF gets hurt. There is more benefit to playing the current OF than to give ABW a few token at bats in September.
  8. As I have said before, the more IF's a team has, the less likely they will have success. So, expectations for next year are very low. I would say that Plouffe get's resigned and he and Sano will split 3rd base duties in an effort to keep Plouffe healthy and to let Sano continue to develop while keeping his bat in the lineup between DH and playing 3rd....which leads to one more question. Will Park come back from surgery and showcase the power that he flashed at times? Another if.
  9. I yelled at the TV when I saw him charging in to make the throw...and as crazy a play as it was, if JRM catches the ball, I think the guy is out at home.
  10. I like the idea of expanding the scouting department and hate the idea of trading away prospects, but that might have to be done to get pitching. I don't want to trade Buxton, Sano, or Kepler.
  11. Also, he came charging in on that ball so recklessly, that he is lucky that he didn't overrun it and have it roll to the fence. Just not smart. Reminds me of a young and reckless Carlos Gomez.
  12. Kintzler doesn't pass the eye test for me. Not enough swings and misses for a closer.
  13. Morales is out of the game...we can go to extra innings now.
  14. How many home runs will Napoli hit against us during the Indians series? I'd say the Vegas line is 2.5.
  15. Most entertaining game I've watched this year!
  16. I think one of my concerns is that the incoming people have already been told who the manager is. Nothing against Molitor, but no incoming boss likes to be told who he/she will hire or, in this case, not fire.
  17. You are right, but trading Dozier for an average pitcher isn't what they need. They need a front line starter. Trading Dozier for a mid range guy would be absurd.
  18. Trading Dozier for "prospects" would be stupid. If they are trading a 2nd baseman who hits 40 dingers, they need to get back a stud pitcher who is MLB ready.
  19. Oh for the love of Teddy!
  20. Here's one of the issues that is tough to calculate. Dozier is a home run threat and that affects not only how he is pitched, but also how the guy in front of him is pitched. For example, if Dozier is leading off, the #9 batter should see better pitches especially with 2 outs. Walking the guy in front of a home run hitter is a recipe for disaster. If we trade Dozier, it can't be for a prospect. It has to be for a really good short stop, a really good catcher, or a really good pitcher.
  21. I think the more interesting thing is to think ahead to your predictions for next year. Yikes!....52 wins...uuuuhhhh...8000 runs allowed...5 sleeping fans killed or injured by rockets hit to the stands in the oufield.
  22. If Rob Antony is making the roster moves, I think I've seen enough. Why are we bringing up guys that really don't have a future with the MLB team (Albers, Shafer) over guys that either need the time up in the MLB for them to have a better future (Buxton), or guys who we need to get a look at at the highest level (Wheeler).
  23. Possibly the understatement of the year. "might get ugly"....it was ugly back in April. We have now fallen from the top of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. We are beyond ugly. Grotesque. Unbearable. Pick the adjective of your choice, but ugly is waaaaay to kind.
  24. Then they need to pound more monkeys!
