    Sure, and the moon is made out of cheese. Or it could be that they have made so much money since they started slashing payroll they have started to feel a little guilty. Both statements are false of course and it's not like they grew a conscience and realize how bad they are screwing over the fans and turned the team into a cellar dweller so quickly. In other words look for an $85M 2014 payroll...yawn......

    I know it will be a sad day for some fans when Gardy is let go after this season, there will be many tears (of joy) for new blood to turn this organization around. The best thing will be a new pitching coach and manager. So who would be available for manager?

    Trade him to Pittsburgh. They can help him regain his K/9 and be an effective pitcher. If they can fix Liriano they can do almost anything.

    I don't get why everyone feels the need for a 3rd catcher. The only thing I can come up with is that Gardy has pulled this we need 3 catchers for so many years people think it is necessary. How many other teams in baseball carry 3 catchers? I can see if they are completely capable at another position. Do you feel confident with Doumit in RF? I sure don't. And the whole time your depth on the bench suffers and you cannot make any moves in a tight game.

    Part 2 Minnesota Twins: What Has Happened to Joe Mauer's Power? Oh yeah noboby asks what happened to his power after he hit 28 HR in 2009. 2010-2013 current stats Mauer has 28 HR... I guess it's Target Field's fault even though only half the games are played there and the rest on the road.

    Jamie Carrol is only playing so they can hope he starts to hit and someone will be willing to give the Twins more than just a PTBNL or cash via trade. But who are they fooling what could they get for a veteran utility infielder? I would hate to say they should be happy if a team would just take the contract.

    The Twins first have to get him to agree to sign before you get your hopes up. I just hope they don't have to go over slot by too much to get it done.

    So the college pitcher could beat the high school pitcher to the big leagues in an organization that has too much patience and not enough balls to take a look at the St Louis Cardinals how they handle young pitchers and how they seem to succeed in the majors..

    The only choice should be Ozzie Guillen!!! He would so great and it would so funny listening to Dick try to figure out what the heck Ozzie is talking about. The only problem the Twins would not want someone with an actual opinion. They would want another yes man/suck up to the Twins. Ozzie would certainly make games more interesting if you can understand him.

    I agree 100% with your comment. You gotta feel bad for him blowing out his elbow at his age. He pretty much threw his last pitch ever, no time for surgery and rehab and to hope someone will give you another chance at 40+. Too bad he have a "Kenny Powers comeback" to the majors and then just walk away on his own terms.

    That would have to easily scare Houston away from drafting him and I don't think they want anything to do with Appel after they wanted nothing to do with him and if he is #1 Boras will make sure he gets every penny he can squeeze out if him. I know we are talking about Gray here but you would have to think this will push Houston to taking Colin Moran, giving the Twins one of the top 3 studs.

    Thanks for putting his stats out. I think when the Twins traded both Span and Revere it reminded the Twins of the Santana trade. Meaning they thought they had to play Hicks to justify their deals. Just think if the Twins would have kept Carlos Gomez in the minors to actually figure things out he could still here and CF would be a strength.

    So it is not a good thing to slash your payroll every year so you can keep more money in your pocket. The Twins are exactly like a redneck with a beat up piece of crap car worth $500 with a stereo and rims worth $3000. Either fix the car or sell the rims and stereo(Trade him).

    Yes, Aaron Hicks should be batting leadoff for the Rochester Redwings. How far do you go before you hurt a players future by leaving him up at a level that he is clearly not ready to handle. And this has absolutely nothing to do to keep his service time under control.

    Anyone happen to check out his stats at AA? 11 AB's 1 triple and 3 HR... looks like possibly another hitter who could excel after not having to hit "the Twins way". Good luck Joe and I can't wait to see you make them pay for dumping you like they should have done to Gardy and his little buddy Rick Anderson a long time ago.

    Thank god we have Mauer signed to be our #2 hitter. $23M man to fill the #2 hole in the lineup. BRILLIANT!
