  1. These are excellent questions. It does not appear there is a consistent strategy here.
  2. Whichever gets you the better players back....though if I wanted to keep the best one, I'd keep Duran. As you point out, Duran is going to be much more expensive the next two years than Jax.....Much.
  3. It better not. Why would the Twins worry about winning games at this point?
  4. Who could have predicted Buxton goin on the IL, and the team voluntarily playing short two games?
  5. Because most of them are pitchers....and the hitters aren't all that good. The few hitters they have that others want are good, not great, players with a couple months left on their deals. At positions where other teams have injuries or bad players. I mean, if I had a car with no engine, but three tires, I might be able to sell the tires.....
  6. Ryan for Anthony from Boston. Who says no?
  7. That's a different argument, and I'm not disagreeing (though I'm not sure 3 years ago).
  8. The Red Sox have better players......I'm not sure what the Twins best lineup is, frankly. With Buxton and Jeffers out, there aren't that many sure fire MLB players on the roster (not starting Bader was odd).
  9. I can't say! I'm only going off the work others here have done. I used to go into this much depth, but I lost interest in doing the work myself......... In any event, I don't think the issue here is number of innings. I think it is injuries and good and bad performance. This team has 6 SP (if you count number 5s) even after dealing Paddock. There are systems w/o 4.....I'm not really sure what people expect, realistically, in terms of depth. Would I like to see Raya go more innings? Or Matthews or Morris or Ohl? Yes, yes I would. Am I sure that would be a good idea? No. Last year Matthews threw 134 innings, btw.....Festa 124.....SWR 133.
  10. They are doing the same exact thing as every other team. People here have analyzed the innings to death, both in the minors and majors, and it's the same as every other team.
  11. Of those three, I like the Boston deal the least......
  12. Sub Arroyo in for one of the non-ford players from Seattle and you have to consider it (for Ryan only). Still not convinced I'd do it....but I might.
  13. I think lesser players, like most workers, are afraid to rock the boat. If anything, my take was the opposite of yours. He was standing up for them too.
  14. I have no idea. I can only go off what I read.
  15. Reds got a 60, 40+, and two more for Castillo. Which, didn't work for the reds long term yet..... No way I deal Ryan for anyone ranked lower than Jenkins, unless there are three 45+
  16. You think two top fifty prospects for one RP? Not happening. Btw, Jenkins continues to drop down lists, while Teel is catching in the majors and hitting....
  17. He's a very good hitter with speed. They need a LF.... Unlike the twins, maybe they didn't want to move him back and forth.... fangraphs still thinks he's a catcher. Fwiw.
