  1. IF they deal Ryan, I want either an elite C who is in AA or AAA, or an elite OF, or an elite SP in AA or AAA. And then I want two more of those. You can't deal him for less than 3 top 100 prospects, at least one of which needs to be top 20 or so (or two top 50).
  2. The farm system lacks huge upside players, outside Jenkins and maybe Tait (in A ball.....) and a never healthy EROD. They are highly ranked because they have SO MANY decent to good prospects. But, I agree! Baldelli does not seem to be the guy to develop players. I could be wrong, but that's how it looks from here.
  3. Turns out the five stages of grief is complete BS, btw. On topic, I appreciate your gumption!
  4. If you are losing 80 million a year, you'd be happy to unload the team for nothing...... There is no chance they are losing that much. Unless he's playing himself like. 150 million a year. Typical third generation billionaire. A failure at every business he's run.
  5. It's always nice when he moves in.
  6. Try one of the guys in AAA. It can't really get worse hitting wise Vazquez is still one of the two or three thousand best players on the planet, he's just not, imo, good enough to be on a MLB team. Try a random former top prospect? I have no good answer for next year.
  7. He's gotten worse on D each of the last two years, and he's not getting younger. No amount of defense can make up for being one of the worst hitters in the game. It's nearly an auto out at this point. 313 hitters have at least as many at bats as him this year. He's, wait for it, 312th in offense.
  8. It's not his fault no one is on base when he hits.....it really isn't. People need to stop only looking at 1-2 stats. That said, ya, he needs to be better on defense. Even with his bad defense, he's putting up 2-2.5 war a year (if he ever plays a full year).
  9. That hasn't stopped our state government (sigh) from allocating money (before the Intel layoffs hit, though).
  10. Portland can't support a MLB team. Zero chance. Zero. Intel is holding on as the biggest employer, and the economy is going to really suffer the next few years (or more) until (if) they recover. (I live here). We're looking at millions and millions of lost tax revenue (more like billions) in the coming years in OR. I don't think the Twins are going anywhere. TB, The A';s (haven't gotten money for a stadium, haven't broken ground) are still looking for homes.
  11. Agreed. I hope they make some faster decisions about the fringey guys and move them to the bullpen sooner rather than later.
  12. So the money should go to the billionaire owners instead? It's not "just a game". It's a trillion dollar business.
  13. I've never heard the TWins cry they don't have money to spend. Not once from the team. I agree with a lot of the rest of this post.
  14. Why? They should be playing guys that might be in the team next year.
  15. How can it be worth more if they are losing money every year as some here claim? I think, given these owners, the most likely path is the cheapest team possible, that still gets them revenue sharing.
  16. Right? The moment he could choose where to live, he left Minnesota. And Minnesotans love him ! Mind. Boggling. Like many rich people, he wants the rewards of being in the US, but doesn't want to pay for those, even though he has generational money.
  17. I mean they are winning because they don't keep developing replacement level guys with top five picks.....
  18. 1-2 against a good team on the road. That's what most teams do.
