  1. Trout ... .... .... .... Donaldson Betts Machado Altuve Dozier is in clearly in the top 7-10.....but he's not in the top 5, imo. Great season! wow.
  2. Man, the good place looks like the worst tv show ever.....
  3. why would anyone watch the OJ stuff? I suppose people will watch the Joan Benoit stuff too.....I don't get it. edit:99% sure I got that last name wrong, because I just don't care about stuff like that.....
  4. I bought DRGO, Microsoft, and GM....for dividend purposes. My adviser and I are discussing a long term play in a real estate effort....and my wife just met a guy that helps people buy RE in Portland.....what I'd like to do is set up an investment pool with about 10 others that buys 3-5 rental units out here....112 people move to Portland every day. RE is going up 15% a year. Even in a recession, I like buying some RE for passive income.
  5. Well, not all of those were planned.....so I'm not sure you can say they were following that strategy. I liked the OP, thanks!
  6. Hahahaha, ya, that was never my look. And, I could never grow that 'stache. That is a serious 80s shirt (I think).
  7. Sure, but it is also Albers, Dean, and about 10 others that are AAA/AAAA pitchers. This isn't just a defense issue.
  8. Cross posting from the thread on other sites....at least he admits he's guessing.... JTT 9:21 Why does nobody seem to want the twins job? The team is basically begging for people to interview and guys are turning them down. I realize the team sucks and ownership is less than ideal but the Angels/mariners jobs were considered difficult and they got their guys pretty easily. Hell even the Marlins went relatively smooth Jeff Sullivan 9:23 I'm going to guess this is more a case of just a few people saying no, and generating headlines. The Twins are going to fill their jobs and they will presumably fill them with quality candidates. It's mostly a desirable spot to work -- low expectations, great ballpark, loyal fan base. There are some issues people will have about working with ownership, and that might make it a little similar to when the Orioles had trouble finding a GM, but I can't imagine ownership is *that* off-putting 9:24 If you're a potential GM, you come in and figure you'll inherit an improving Sano, Buxton, and Berrios. There are worse places to start
  9. Great read......if you are interested in the hitter side....read the Fangraphs article by Eno Sarris on what hitters can see. What a great read.
  10. Ha, different kind of hard for sure, but yes, hard, very hard.
  11. It is hard to see both Park and Vargas on this team together...
  12. I agree with the premise of the OP. I DH almost everything in my life.
  13. I had to switch, though. She just couldn't picture a new hair style for me, and I needed a change. i've been to two different places so far in Oregon (sigh, I had found the right one in MN....), not sure how I feel about either so far.
  14. I was surprised about Diaz also. That was the one major surprise for me.
  15. I could never root for the Cleveland team....the fact I call them the CLE team should explain why. The Os are hard to explain. Like, fascinating in some ways. I am rooting for Toronto and the Cubs, I guess, but I'm not sure I care all that much.
  16. It is certainly frustrating. Over the last how many years.....the only pitchers they have drafted, or traded for, and developed that have had success are Gibson, Duffey, and ????. It really is all about this. Whether that is draft position, bad luck, or whatever.....they have pretty much relied on FAs the last couple of years, FAs purchased that had little upside (or none). It hasn't worked. Until they get even close to mediocre, the offense won't be good enough to matter, imo.
  17. The LHP with the long name week be 26/27 before he comes up? I hope the new regime doesn't waste RP and in the minors. But, that is a nit in an article I think is very well written with great info.
  18. Having recently moved, as bad as delta can be, Minneapolis might be one of the best places to fly from....but yes, being close to family is important and is likely a factor for any move.
  19. Wow the market is variable right now. A lucky options gambler could make tons.
  20. But that is not about coming to Minnesota....it would preclude any move...yet some here are convinced, apparently, that it is a Minnesota problem. Or, I am reading it wrong
  21. That would preclude you from trusting nearly every piece of confidential news. Pretty high standard...
  22. Agreed. Moving is hard at that age. I doubt all the top candidates would decline interviews over that, as some imply here over and over. Whether we are talking FO or FA.
  23. Yes, very fluid right now.
  24. New York, Boston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Denver.....all have snow and cold. The Minnesota inferiority complex is strong on this board...
  25. Minnesota is one of the best places to raise children in the country. Not sure what you are saying here...
