  1. Right, I don't doubt Romero has more upside, but I'd be shocked if De Leon isn't a number 4 for some time, if not better. His floor is, imo, super high. Not to mention Romero uses his arm for most of the work, and that scares me some.
  2. Veterans: Mauer, Dozier, Escobar, Castro, ESan, Gibson, Santiago, most of the bullpen. Who are they mentoring, exactly? So, we just wait until Garver is 27/28 before he comes up?
  3. Right, I meant to type that....whichever they like more right now, Murphy or Garver, should start in MN. My money is on it going the way I don't want, though.
  4. So, wait until Garver is 27 for him to play in the majors? Why?
  5. I hope the Twins take the Rangers' advice, realize where they are in the rebuild, and act accordingly. Stop hoping that "if A, B, and C work out perfectly, we might be good". Play either Murphy or Garver. Some say "Garver has to play every day"....well, he won't likely be asked to do that next year, either, assuming Castro is healthy. How many years will you hold him back, so that he can play every day in AAA? If Garver is the best player among the three, he should be up. If it is Gimenez, what would you learn/see from him playing every 3 days, to know if he's good/bad, that you don't already know?
  6. In the article: I fully believe he will be viewed as a better asset than Jose De Leon – the coveted prospect Minnesota passed up in Brian Dozier trade talks – a year from now.
  7. I'm not either, but you wanna bet if this happens more, or less, this year? You do know the history of college coaches abusing these guys, right?
  8. He has the potential to be an ACE, and you'd not use him as a pitcher? I'm not sure I understand, but am open to reading more...
  9. Wanna place money on that De Leon statement? I'm not sure how we'd measure it, given the Twin will be in A and AA ball, and De Leon will be in AAA and the majors....and lose his prospect status.
  10. I would never let my kid go to a college program if he would be a top HS pitcher/1st/2nd round pick. Most of the coaches don't care about the athletes at all.
  11. Me? I like Wright or Greene right now, in February. I want UPSIDE. If Kendall could get to a 5 tool player (i.e., he could make contact), he'd be the obvious #1 choice. But, if you can't make contact, that's an issue.
  12. Bad idea, imo.. If you want him to be a great pitcher, you have him concentrate on pitching. And on not getting hurt also.
  13. Haven't checked. Maybe I won't...
  14. In re the system... If your number two prospect is a RP or number four starter on upside, that's not so good.
  15. I hope he is on AAA sooner rather than later.
  16. I don't understand how saying Turner looks great, is saying Gordon won't be good or great. I mean, I have said both...
  17. We think so, good point. Either way, he put up 3.3 WAR in 73 games last year.... So hard to understand not liking that.
  18. True, he's now a starting CF worth 3-5 WAR....terrible pick of Turner. Oh, and he's in the majors. So, can't tell if serious or not. Also, he could still be their SS, but they have one they like and no CF. He put up 3.3 WAR in 73 games last year, if you think Turner is not a better pick, I don't know what to say, frankly.
  19. Need three injuries and improved hitting, so, nearly zero, imo.
  20. I would have had him at shortstop in AAA some, or a lot. I didn't understand then, and I don't understand now. Same as never playing Sano in the outfield, if that was ever considered before last year.
  21. Too low for me. I see an everyday shortstop with a lot of confidence. Not the greatest pick that year, but a legit shortstop, imo. And yes, people have not adjusted their expectations on batting average.
  22. I would not platoon Kepler, let him learn to hit lefties this year. He is how old?
  23. I agree, betting their entire slot on one player is a big time bet. I don't argue that at all.
