    What's different? They chose a toolsy HS OF/SS. That's EXACTLY what they did in 2 of the last 5 drafts with Buxton and Gordon. They then chose a HS pitcher not from the US, just like with Berrios. The only real delta is Rooker, so far. I guess I just don't see the delta that you are seeing.

    Epstein chose the top college hitter at number 2 and 7 (or whatever), not a HS kid under slot. Right? That would have been McKay this year.

    Based on what do you think the Twins will promote a guy to the majors in under 2 years? All the fast promotions this year? Also, these are the SAME scouts, right? It isn't the "previous regime". It is the same scouts. Also, this FO chose this bullpen, right?

    Very low. It's somewhere around here, maybe round 4 or 5, where it is random.

    Tyler Jay. Kohl Stewart. 5 of 6 terrible seasons. Breslow. Belisle. Tepesch. I think some skepticism is warranted. Others don't. Rooker will turn 23 this year, 23. He'll be at least 25 before he plays in MN. KLAW didn't have the canadian in his top 100, so he wasn't "universally" in the top 100.

    Looks like the fake news was that Rooker will turn 22... He is 22, and will turn 23 this year.

    If that is their plan, they just lost out on Carlson. Based on their actions, I am thinking it isn't their plan. Since, as we know, they went underslot on three picks. Not one.

    Then they should have taken one. Otherwise someone else will. We are totally in the random phase now.

    Using money to over draft fifth round quality picks does nothing. You think there are legit first round talents out there? Seems unlikely at this point.

    So, they drafted three guys ahead of their consensus rankings. Using the same scouts that drafted Stewart and Jay. To save money for what, exactly?

    Of course not, but to day there are 39 rounds left is silly, imo. There are about two or three rounds left that likely matter at all, if that many.

    Are there anymore thirty five year old RPs left? Or journeyman starters?

    Would I trade Wright plus another guy for Lewis and Carlson? Probably? I think, but it it's closer than you think since there would have been a good player at thirty five at slot

    After pick forty, it is random. And they are using the same scouts that drafted Stewart and Jay. Some skepticism is reasonable. It's gotta be Carlson art this point.

    If it isn't Carlson, they got nothing for their savings. Unless all the rankings are wrong, and the Twins know something no one else seems to.
