  1. He was not far from top 100 in 2018 on Fangraphs, IIRC.....but not sure before that (and not this year).
  2. three guys in Detroit's top 10 seems like a good price to me edit:ninja'd by your response!
  3. If he hit 60s, I stand corrected.......also, sort of proves the point that some guys should be traded for actual MLB players, and not counted on. Of course, he can still be a legit MLB player, but his stuff isn't GREAT, and he was hurt for some time....
  4. You get great players by trading great prospects, that's how it generally works......
  5. You can set any price you want, but it's negotiated......so, not sure I get your post? This post also touches on the relative value of the available (?) players, which is kind of important in this work....
  6. Outside Twin's Daily, I don't recall most websites loving Gonsalves........but it should remind everyone why "untouchable" or "can't fail" or "worst case he's helpful" just isn't true....
  7. They can make the team better w/o giving up their top 7-10 prospects? Also, this is a bird in hand situation....everything is going well, and the players are healthy. That doesn't happen every year, how many years were Mauer and Morneau healthy and great together? If you aren't willing to strike this year, you never will be.
  8. If I was a betting man, I think they'll trade for Mike Minor, and not one of the big names being thrown around.
  9. Agreed, though Lewis and Kiriloff need to return something great, with control, to be dealt. And, Gaterol better not be their best pitching prospect, or this pipeline has issues. As stated above, if you wait and wait to draft pitching, you better be willing to trade for it.....
  10. As I said above, great writing and acting.
  11. It's a stupid old saying, as people that understand math would never use average that way, but I get your point. We probably won't agree here.....
  12. did you read the math article? Bunting there decreases your odds of scoring by 5%, give or take. Seems odd, but it does.
  13. There are times to bunt late in games, maybe. But here is some math (note, this is not a game thread, so you were not promised no math, sir or madam). https://www.danblewett.com/run-expectancy-bunting-bad/
  14. If the Twins knew Rogers was going to be this good, they would have taken him earlier. His success has nothing to do with Jay's failure. Jay, Gordon, Stewart, were Ryan's last three number 1 picks, before that? Buxton, Levi Michael, Alex Wimmers, Gibson, Hunt, Guteriezz, Hicks..... So, three legit ML players out of ten. Jay, Gordon and Stewart were all top 10 picks (meaning the ML team was bad.....). (One of the three good ones he traded for Murphy.....) and maybe Gordon turns out. Miss on one? Sure. Miss on two? Maybe ok. Miss on all three in a row? That's not good enough, if your strategy is to NOT sign big time FAs, not trade top prospects for players, and to build in the draft and IFA......
  15. Late next year for Gaterol? I hope not. Because with their lack of depth, that means a lot of starts by lesser pitchers. If Balazovic is dominant for two months, promote him again. He could be up next year.
  16. Which is why I said good luck, because it gets explained over and over, and casinos still make money.
  17. People don't get that things don't even out the way they think. That's how casinos make money....
  18. I'd love to add him, but he's going to cost three prospects, at least one very big name. I think you are underestimating his value.
  19. What? When Garver doesn't play, Kepler leads off. I don't understand this post. It's about the first time this has happened.
  20. Two important players hurt, and we talk about batting order and hitting with runners in position as meaningful things? What matters is the health of Cruz and Perez.
