  1. Why would they look foolish for backing out when two others did?
  2. You think the twins got that deal, because they thought he was healthy?
  3. But for more than two or three years. I'm still betting Mets. But then, I thought he'd be a Giant.
  4. I've seen some strange ideas on this site.... But giving up prospects for a third baseman when you have Miranda and Lee? Mind. Boggling. Truly an awful use of assets.
  5. They don't really pay hitters either. Vazquez, Donaldson traded after two years. That's it for multi year deals?
  6. Three years. Three years is different than 1.
  7. Not just MN.....nearly every big deal is going to a handful of teams (though this one isn't big, it's much longer than I thought he'd get). Congrats to him! and, fun to play with your brother.
  8. There are a lot of 2B options in AA/AAA, and even the majors. Gordon, for example, can play 2nd this year if they deal both Polanco and Arraez (I predict they deal neither).
  9. We must no be looking at home runs or defense now? I mean, look at the home run difference. Did those others sign for one year? I literally can't recall right now
  10. I'm not sure how to go from great prospect to bag of balls.....
  11. I want to keep Gray for mentor purposes, at least to the trade deadline. Other than that? I'd deal Kepler, Arraez and Polanco for the best prospects I could get (not numbers, but best individual talent). I don't think you are getting much for Mahle or Maeda right now.....But Lopez and he who shall not be named? I'd deal them.
  12. One thing is for sure.....not much happening in TWins' land that we got ANOTHER article on Gallo.....
  13. It isn't GREAT.....but if you could add three players that good every year, you'd have a good team.......If you were willing to sign the occasional FA that was actually good.... (like the C this year).
  14. I think they keep Kepler and Gallo. Look at last year's disaster. Me? I'd trade Kepler right now for a great prospect. Even a very good one. Yes, that would hurt 2023 depth. I'm willing to take that risk.
  15. One of the worst humans ever. No thanks.
  16. How is this a rumor? It is news, and was reported when Gallo was signed, wasn't it? I have zero, nada, nil, issue replacing Contreras with Gallo.
  17. Sure, if you can get a really good pitcher for Arraez and Kepler and one decent prospect, sure. Good luck with that. What team that has a good pitcher in the majors wants two veteran hitters?
  18. Mahle, Kiriloff and Larnach haven't been healthy for two years. Miranda? Sure, if you want to go to maybe 10 million a year. I'd extend Gray, but given this market, he'll want 4 years for at least 20 million a year .... hint....the Twins won't do that for anyone, let alone a pitcher.
  19. 100% . Not only are they passing on the elite pitchers, they are passing on the next tier. Every year. Over and over.
  20. To be clear.....my posts about having CC or having two mediocre players aren't about CC.....they are about the strategy of continuing to sign one or two bad or ok players, year after year, instead of signing an elite player. Last year there were more great SPs available than ever. Instead of signing one, they signed Bundy and Archer, who were literally their two worst starters last year. Then, at the break, they dealt for Mahle. Imagine if they had signed one of the really good starters instead! And, that player would still be here this year, and next. Now? Now they need starters again, and they are down the prospects they dealt for Mahle (who is gone after this year, so they'll need another pitcher next year).
  21. The Twins need pitching because last year was a record year for free agent starters, and they sat it out. Just like this year. And every year.
  22. This wasn't a strategy until last year when their veterans were bad and hurt. Why do we expect it to continue? You wanted Bundy to pitch more innings? Or injured guys?
