  1. Contreras? He's a AAAA player. Why would you want him over Larnach or Wallner? Also, Stevenson? If you are going there, just call up Kiersey (neither of which I'd do).
  2. The season won't be over if they get swept.... That said, no moves coming? Well, that's peachy. Just. Peachy.
  3. I have no idea how you can blame this FO for what Buxton (hurt) Kepler (bad) Polanco (hurt), Sano (come on, no one has claimed him even) turned into. And, they turned Arraez into Lopez and two minor league players. It was a fair trade, even if it hasn't worked yet. So that leaves Rosario, who was DFAd by CLE at one point.... Also, we should maybe give them some credit for developing Arraez....And, you are right on Jeffers.
  4. Julien isn't good? He's not Arraez..... And, yes, this is the question. They traded Arraez for a pitcher.......Arraez and ? or Lopez and Julien...that was the calculation. It hasn't worked, but it largely hasn't because every OF sucks and CC sucks and Buxton isn't good.....
  5. Still no move on the roster.....if they don't make a change before today's game (and we have no info that anyone is moving around)....well, the terms of service prevent me from saying what I want to say about the FO at this point.
  6. 100% on this. 100%. I think Lewis and Lee break this pattern, but I'm not convinced on any of the other guys. And they destroyed Martin. AK might, might, break the pattern also. It is one reason I'd fire the FO right now.
  7. Not very.....my point stands. You don't build a team with one player. The Twins made a calculation that one of Julien or Gordon (and a healthy Polanco) plus Lopez and two minor league players was better than Arraez and random guy.....It hasn't worked for a ton of reasons, but I think it is much more about CC and the OF and Buxton than Arraez.....
  8. Teel could be a good enough hitter to play first or OF.....if he's close to what some think, he's a top 5-10 catcher. That is 100% worth the fifth pick.
  9. It's fair that some small market teams don't care....but this team has its highest payroll ever, and isn't doing what Pitts and Oak and others are doing....but I could be wrong. Maybe they don't want to win (but then I don't see any way they sign CC or Buxton to those deals).
  10. What makes you think he hasn't been addressing the team privately, it wasn't working, so he went public? Most leaders try very hard not to criticize publicly.... As for Wallner (not at you)....there is zero good reason for him to be in AAA (same with Larnach) given the what Kepler and Gallo and MAT are doing.....As I've said, I'd fire the FO at this point, given their refusal to admit their mistake and move on.
  11. He didn't say that, though I agree with you. I think his point stands. They want winning because it generates more profit.....
  12. Which other starting pitcher was traded that was good, or signed as a FA (how much more do we think the budget could be?)?
  13. Wow, Clark falling to 10? That would be a dream scenario for some team if you could trade draft picks...... I'm good with Teel. I'm good with Lowder. I'm good with Clark. Any of those three if the draft fell this way (I clearly only go by what I read.....).
  14. The value is irrelevant (mostly) unless they plan to sell. I do agree, though, that this idea that the owner, FO, and manager and players (I've seen all of them mentioned, repeatedly) don't care about winning is ridiculous. Utterly.
  15. It's also ok to like the trade. Me? I'm unsure....but here was the calculus.... Arraez and ? OR Lopez and Polanco and/or Gordon and/or Julien (depending on if Arraez is 2B or DH, as I assume AK is 1B). Plus two minor league players. I get it.....it would be great to have Arraez given that every supposed veteran on this team is hurt or bad.....but they would likely not have any more wins with him here rather than Lopez. Which as my point about the record the last two years....they had him and bad pitching, and didn't win. It is a team game, and the FO bet on the second option above .... and might be wrong. But this idea that trading Arraez DOOMED the season, and the trade was awful, well, I think the trade was fair. YMMV of course.
  16. I think it's fair to dislike the trade ... But who pitches instead? And if he's worse, they need the bullpen more . They gambled polanco or Gordon or Julien plus Lopez was better than Arraez and ?. I think that was a good gamble. I understand why others disagree, but they never mention who the other pitcher would be, or seem to take that into account.
  17. Who pitches instead of Lopez? And does that make the team better or worse? If he's not good, they need the bullpen even more....
  18. Oh, we agree on that. I was adding the process topic....
  19. Of course, that's not what I said... It's a team game. It would be great to have him, but then no idea who pitches....
