  1. If he's not worth a good prospect, he's not worth playing....If he's some really good hitter, then he's worth at least one good to great prospect.
  2. I could see trading Vazquez and signing a cheap player. He's not really hit since 2019....OTOH, last year was his worst offensive year in, well, a long time. Is it decline, or was last year just not good for him? Me? I'd deal him, sign a cheaper player, and hope Camargo continues to improve and be ready next year to help/take over from the cheaper guy. I'm all in on Martin for CF. On the tiny chance Buxton is finally healthy, I'd rather not sign a CF and have Martin be utility with Castro next year. It is really about Buxton..... Severino? I'd had have had him up last year when AK was hurt....not sure why the team tried to keep AK up and playing...
  3. I'm in no hurry to do anything....I just believe Polanco is bad at 3b and SS, and they can't have him and Farmer sitting around doing nothing many days......it's just not good asset management. Polanco brings back a very good to great prospect, IMO. They need those too, especially SP and C......If you get ride of Farmer, who backs up 3B and SS if Castro is your backup CF (or starter)? At some point, you have to trust your young guys....and for me, this is that point with Julien. IF they deal Julien instead, well, that wouldn't be the worst decision, but that's 10 million more a year for 2B than Julien, which is also an issue for this team, like it or not. At some point, you can't only have veterans making millions at every spot.
  4. I do almost whatever (outside canning KoC) it takes to keep him around.......not sure what that is. These guys all want to be HC.
  5. Wow. My son and I almost flew to MN to go to both games....but I just couldn't stomach the cost.
  6. If you plan for Buxton to be hurt, you have to go get a CF......if that's how you think Polanco plays..... He should be traded for prospect(s), preferably SP or C. I don't know how you PLAN to not play Buxton during the spring.....and it doesn't make sense to have one of Polanco or Julien on the bench, not when you can turn one of them into assets that can be on the field at the same time as the other one. Given the team's constraints now and in the future, it makes sense to keep the less expensive one, the younger one. From an asset management and 26 man perspective, it just makes sense for one of them to go.
  7. It's not like he was all that good last year..... It is unreal to win with your third QB, the best WR in the game and your other starter at the beginning of the year, and your top two RB out..... Not thrilled with the second half, but still, in perspective, it's hard to believe.
  8. Need a better kicker.
  9. I take back my compliment of the coach
  10. Chokey mcchokerson? Hope not. But the offense has disappeared completely.
  11. He's got to go. Also, go for it there
  12. The forty niner front four, and offense, is killing Jax. How did Minnesota beat them?
  13. I might have to go to the bar and watch part of the game
  14. And the coach. He's clearly a better offensive coach than I thought
  15. Not to give up fifty points to a terrible team seems reasonable.....
  16. One year, ten to twelve, is my guess. Possibly as low as eight with incentives. Just a guess
  17. I mean, I'd think never
  18. The game is on here. Has the gopher QB ever looked at a second receiver? Yikes.
  19. Plus, let's face it, Farmer was acquired to be the bridge to Lewis, and now they have Lewis and (soon) Lee for SS.....so, it wouldn't shock me if he was not on the Twins next year.
  20. Not if the budget is an issue and it stops CF and SP from being good..... That's my concern. Though 1b is about the only spot to realistically spend on given the roster.
  21. original post, which was about replacing Gray.....and what he did last year, not what he might or might not do in the future.
  22. That's some awful use of one statistic to make a point. Taylor and Solano and Castro 100% saved this team. CC did a lot of other things than hit for average. Not one person has ever said spending guarantees anything....but we know not spending makes it nearly impossible to win the WS (only 8 in the last thirty years weren't in the top 10 in spending).
  23. I'm not sure what this has to do with the OP? Why do you think that last thing? He was one of the 10 best pitchers in baseball this year....and he's going to be a number 3 next year why? but....he's getting three years and at least 25 per year, IMO.
  24. Assuming one is there.....is there usually? I don't know, hence the question. I don't think any ACE was traded the last two trade deadlines, other than the one that cost two top 25 prospects and another top 100 one, which the Twins will never do.
