    I'm not walking one block to the bar to watch this....I don't care how bad the oline is, they haven't scored in two and a half games. Why is he playing? He's proven he can't, here and Arizona. It isn't scheme....

    Other than the CC signing, no big free agent goes to mid market teams. So all this does is raise the price the big market teams pay.... Nothing changes here, other than players getting more money. There is no evidence payroll affects costs to ticket buyers.

    Much of it is deferred, at the player request supposedly, so the team can still be competitive. I'm happy for the player!

    If every team is doing it....that is the going rate. so, not an over pay.

    no compensation. The deterant at the major league level is you have to keep them in the majors. In the minor league level? 40 man issues. You already have guys you like more, etc.

    good point. I love this trade for both teams, given the context of who they are (money wise) and the competitive position they are in.
