    Has anyone ever forced their way on? I feel like they only get called up if there is terrible play at the MLB level, or an injury or trade. I'm ready to move on from Farmer and Margot, but the Twins didn't seem to be.

    It looks at all the teams and how they do at developing players, so you can see how other teams do also.....It ranks the TWins very highly....we just don't pay enough attn to other teams to really do comparisons on our own, IME.

    Fangraphs says they were considering keaschell for the top 100, and haven't done Minnesota's list yet. I'm guessing he's there now.... Dude can really hit.

    None of this is regression to the mean.....it's insanely above their mean. But, it is good news for these games for sure. Very good news. I hope no one expects this to continue (I'd expect them to do what they did last year, give or take).

    Odds are that plane you get on won't crash, but it still might....that is the nature of "odds". There is ZERO absolutism in analytics. Zero. And, 100% you can make a good decision that doesn't work, or a bad one that does. If you drive home drunk and don't kill anyone, that doesn't make it a good decision.

    Would you rather have Martin in LF or 2B? I don't know the answer.....I just wish he'd played more OF in the minors

    I had a baseball he signed, thinking he'd be a STAR someday. Pretty sure I just used it at some point and it is gone now.

    I'm not convinced owners (some of them) want to spend more than they are.....or some of them would have allowed it before the year. I guess we'll find out in a month or so...

    I don't know. If it's easier to make the playoffs, why go spend prospects and money? Just make the playoffs and get a few million more in ticket sales. Alf: Do you think that the “seller’s market” thing is overblown?     Just say no to HS pitchers.....the odds are soooooooooo small. So very small.

    This. This idea that growth is linear? Not true. This idea that there is always a person to blame? Not true. Stuff happens. Random stuff. Injuries. Coaching changes. Adjustments. Etc...... The most likely, simplest, explanation is that a WHOLE LOT of bad things have happened, injuries, adjustments (by him and pitchers and coaches, and him to play thru injury), inconsistent playing time, etc.....all these things add up. And even then, the simplest explanation is that MLB is HARD, and sometimes things don't work out right away or at all.

    I'd likely stand pat....I'd prefer not to sell if they are are playoff team. But no way I'm dealing any young players for rentals, not with this roster. Not getting a legit SP and one great hitter (instead of multiple mediocre players) was a huge blunder....
