  1. I think that's the point, there isn't anyone worth pursuing (most likely).....
  2. Ok, I'm ready now. Put him at 2B, with Castro in LF and Martin as the backup....DFA Farmer.
  3. Yup, not ideal. I'm sure he was told to THROW STRIKES after the big lead.....but, hopefully the next start is better. Not worried at all....
  4. Which doesn't seem to be the argument you are making. I think one can rightly argue trading Kepler for a prospect makes no sense right now, but that's different than not getting value in return. I'd roll those dice, but I can see why others would not.
  5. Which has nothing to do with the last trade. Imo
  6. How? Has any player ever done that? It takes awful play by a veteran, and even that doesn't always work, or an injury or trade. I can't recall any current player displacing even a mediocre veteran.
  7. Syllogism 1:13 lol --- D&D ... sweet! Back in the day, a friend and I created a system for DUNE! Thanks so much for what you do! Of Schuemann, Schneemann, Austin Martin, Horowitz ... who do you think might stick?ReactReact AvatarDan Szymborski 1:13 Martin's certainly the most INTERESTING of them
  8. Man I wanted Turner that draft.....but yes, picking the right guy, having him be healthy, and you and him gelling on his development, likely over 3-5 years, is really hard.
  9. for MN? Virtually zero. They can only deal so many first round picks, or somesuch. They also deal for the player picked, not the pick, which is stupid. The dude they took is TINY!
  10. Tino 12:13 Would you consider Festa a worse, equal, or better prospect than Povich? Dan Szymborski 12:13 I think they're in the same general vicinity Biscuit 12:46 Who are your favorite "closers-in-waiting" that are behind guys that are likely to be traded?ReactReact AvatarDan Szymborski 12:46 The latter makes it trickier! 12:47 Like Brock Stewart should be a closer at some point, but the Twins aren't trading their closer
  11. I would be happy with any of those top three, acknowledging I'm leery of Honeycutt..... But I'd be good with that chance at 21. Nervous, but good.
  12. I agree with this article. I'd move him to the bullpen and get him in MN next year.....if not this. Griffin Jax is making a lot more money being a RP in the majors than a AAAA starter....
  13. I'd take the chance and deal him. He's likely not the difference between advancing in the playoffs and not, not for this team. But NO CHANCE this happens, imo. Frankly, I'd embrace the future this year, and see what they have/need next year.....and deal Kepler for sure as part of that (maybe Santana and put Julien there?). See if Wallner is fixed or not. Get Rodriguez up here when healthy. I'd even deal Buxton (yes, he can be traded if properly incentivized), but I can't see that either.
  14. we officially have him on the starter/reliever line until we see him stretched out more than he has been so far. I'm not sure we read that sentence the same way.
  15. DeAndrade and Gonzalez are big droppers relative to others (from what I hear).
  16. boushley winder headrick are options for what? DFA? They aren't netting ANYTHING in a trade.
  17. Ya, there is no "wash" there at all. You don't deal long term assets for a 2B who has zero power and can't field at all when you have Julien and Lee in AAA and Castro in MN.
  18. I posted the link elsewhere, I assume someone will write an article about it.
  19. Raya is top 100, and Keaschell is on some lists, and will be on Fangraphs at season's end. Gonzalez is on some lists. That's 1-3 top 100 guys......
  20. 93rd overall on Fangraphs (they released the MN list today)......they really like him.
