  1. Why would you trade him at his all time low value? Unless you are blown away, I don't get this.
  2. Utter insanity to deal Wallner. Deal Kepler if anyone....from the 40 man.....but the others in this list have little value and are throw ins.
  3. Ya, up to 15 million per team? Maybe this will be "extra" money Falvey can spend?
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwDps6Wa9ec
  5. I'm flabbergasted at Julien. He was the most likely (in my mind) player to play about the same as last year.....Jeffers is also in a slump, but he's still one of the better overall catchers for the year. Lee? Bummer of a slump, but when Lewis comes back, I put Lee at SS or 2B. If they want to send someone down, it's got to be Julien. the delta between AAA and MLB is (according to what you read on line) bigger now than ever. I'd just give Lee time right now....
  6. Great job by Rocco and the players! In all five of these games w/o their three best hitters...... Wallner has the highest OPS of any currently playing player, btw.....Tied with Buxton of the healthy players in wrc+....
  7. because it is shown to be a terrible strategy before the 8th inning....or 7th....
  8. Twins are 6th in runs scored......
  9. great job by Festa today.....
  10. yikes what? That's what young, great LT are paid. They also signed Shelly back as CB, since they need one...
  11. This is likely true, but there might be bumps along the way.....that said, nothing lasts forever, so it is theoretically possible MLB has a real problem. Not likely though....
  12. Yup. No one I know talks about them anymore (of course, I'm in OR now, but I used to talk about them some with friends back in MN, no more). Which is why I spend too much time here....
  13. That course must be so very hard. Didn't get to watch any today, and my weekend plans just got changed, so might not see much then either...... Hovland is in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" world (which I hate, as you should always be getting better).
  14. Given who they need to attract, likely free non-A beer is a better idea......which amazes me, but it seems to be how things are going.
  15. My thought, and I could be wrong, but if you'd written a blog post before the year saying Jenkins would be in low A at the break, with no sign he needed promoting, people would be disappointed and that they would have expected him to be in high A at this point. Injury certainly altered that, but IMO, no one expected him to spend most of this year in low A. that was my point, not anything about the future at all.....
  16. Is he signed past this year? Because I have a suspicion he's ready to move on.....
  17. I agree with this article! It's especially important, as they are nearly guaranteed to cut payroll again this coming year (Kepler replaced with a minimum wage guy, and Farmer the same). It might go "up" with raises, but it isn't going up from adding players......I can see a future where only CC, Buxton and Lopez are signed past 2025.....and everyone else is pre-arb or arbitration. They need to get the fans back on board before that happens.... Lewis and Lee and Julien being good and healthy would also help (Wallner too, MN love their locals), as CC and Buxton look likely to have ongoing health issues, and they need a person to cheer for.
  18. I mean, that's what I said, right? He's fine.....The elite of the elite come up at 21 or 22 (there are, of course, exceptions) when HS players.....I'm still hopeful, not worried, just not thrilled yet.
  19. Second last player to sign.... Leaving their other first ronder as the only unsigned pick in the NFL....
  20. McCarthy and the Vikings reach a deal....
  21. I was also expecting more. Teel is in AA as a catcher..... And doing well. Jenkins hasn't shown any growth from last year, he hasn't forced his way up the ladder. He's been fine, which is not what anyone expected or wants.
