    Only judging an action after you see all the effects is kind of meaningless. You can't predict injuries, or luck. You can have a good outcome from a bad decision. The question is.... Given what falvey knew at the time, were the moves good? I think they all made sense except for varland. Judging these solely on this year is silliness, truly.

    What do you think minor league depth is? How many pitchers would you expect any team to have that are proven MLB pitchers?

    This team has more than many other teams. Trading Ryan was never about this year...... Just bad luck that the good pitchers are missing this much time.

    True, but I don't blame the team. Some teams don't have five pitchers.....

    I don't think wpa uses defense. It's a flaw for sure, but I read they do that because it's hard to assign the value between the fielders and pitchers, so the pitcher takes it all.

    Why play him at short at this point? There is almost zero chance he'll ever play there. Imagine if they'd have moved Martin to the of sooner....

    Winokur will never play shortstop for the twins. I truly am baffled they refuse to put him at a position he might play, so he can get good at it. Just mind boggling.

    Except they keep running the old guys out, especially the bullpen. They are doing nothing for the future there. You can't build it in one year, so they need to start now. And they aren't.

    I mean, they'll be further back by the time they trade him.... So I doubt they'll be delusional at that point. They could have had a top, top, prospect plus in the off season..... Oh well.

    No idea what happened to SWR, he needs to go to the bullpen if Ryan is healthy. I understand "any given Sunday" , but losing two of three to the Nationals is awful. Do people still think the former manager was actually the problem? It's the GM, owners, and players....
