  1. I mean, if they tank next year what do you do? At some point, you have to play your guys. This is a lost year, if not now, when? 100% Martin and Keaschell are up again this year, most likely after the deadline. Sabato and Gonzalez? probably not by this FO....but by me? Yes.
  2. Also, this idea that if CC hits 4th or 5th matters to him as a hitter seems really odd to me. They are all going up there trying to get a hit. Also, so many injuries, and bad players and platoon guys....why would anyone want a consistent lineup given this roster and last year's? I just don't get this obsession so many here have. Do we really think if Lewis wakes up and he's batting 4th or 6th he groans and decides he isn't happy and can't play well?
  3. Ballesteros is a great get. That would be very good. Jonah Tong or Nolan McLean of the Mets. I don't think Painter is realistic! But that would be an A+.
  4. Definitely in waves! Almost always spoofing a 952 area code, which is a dead give away now that I live in OR.....
  5. Martin should be here now, over Kiersey or Castro when traded. Anyone over France. could be you for all I care (I'd put Keaschell there right now and for the rest of the year). I'd also consider Sabato and just see if he actually figured it out this year (aka, Rooker). Bader? I guess Martin, but I'd consider Gonzalez. Get his feet wet for next year, so he's not a rookie next year. The RPs? I'd probably put some random SP from the minors in there that isn't one of the top 4-6 guys in the minors that might be starters.
  6. Or they made a simple mistake? Or they don't agree they can get two for one RP (since no else has in the last decade)? I doubt it is as you rudely say that they can't read....
  7. great points! I generally agree, btw, that they should concentrate on the expiring deals. More likely do the others only if others call them first......there are more bidders for all the players they control in the off season anyway....
  8. I'm going to guess here.....and maybe when gleeman and the geek talked to levine they heard this, but I'm guessing every single player on every single team (majors and minors) is in a database the TWins have, and they aren't "looking at hte players" other than maybe having some scouts eyeball them a bit. I just think, and I could be wrong, they already know everything there is to publicly know about every player out there for the most part.
  9. So, the same problem as now......hmmmm....I sense a pattern.
  10. Ya, I'm not thrilled neither worked, and I don't like how they handled either.....but at this point I just think they need to move on. Which means they won't, and will get nothing for them.....or they'll sit in AAA giving them nothing but blocking others from moving up.....(can you tell I'm down on the FO?)
  11. I'd rather wait for the off season, when there are more bidders, and I agree with you on the minimum get. As for the OP and premise, I just wonder how people think this team is getting fixed w/o trading valuable players to fill the massive offensive holes here.
  12. Ya, I hadn't realized he'd been that good. They won't be dealing him.....oh well.
  13. Don't worry, Ty France will absolutely crush it tonight (posted just for you! :) ).I can't see them scoring much against Gore, so Matthews will have to be really, really, good.
  14. I mean, there is a lot to like here, but Pablo and Joe completely disprove one of your facts. I agree, he's created this mess and I don't think he's the right one to fix it because of that....
  15. yes, but this thread isn't about those! Other than saying you want to keep the, but I just don't see a path for Julien or Miranda given what is in the minors and majors (maybe first? but I put Keaschell there for at least the rest of this year).
  16. I'd be looking for a team with a failed starter on the 40 man, who wants to see if they can fix Julien or Miranda......a challenge trade for both. Frankly, it is hard to see any of these three getting dealt. But it is just a discussion board....so I'm discussing. I guess.
  17. Ya, this is a real issue......but I'm trying not to say "fire the FO and manager" every post!
  18. I'll ask again, where do you see Miranda or Julien ever getting a shot in MN again? Also, you want to use two 40 man spots on them next year?
  19. The question is what should they do with them now.....not what they did in the past. Where do you see Julien or Miranda ever getting a shot here? So, sure, complain about the past, I don't disagree (esp. on Martin), but that's not really relevant to this discussion of what to do now at all.
  20. I'd much rather they give Keaschell one position (first base or LF is my preference, but that arm.....). Same with Culpepper, one position (third or second?).
  21. They have to be dealt before 40 man rosters are set for next year (or end of this year, can't recall)....as they either need to be on teh 40 man or not. (I vote not, other than Martin). If they can sweeten another deal or get anything back, I do it. Julien I think has value, but he has no path to playing time in MN at this point.
  22. He's about 100x better than what Philly has had for three years now, and they are competing for WS. He absolutely has value to them. How much value is the question....You want to DFA a 1.5-2 win player (which he was last year)? Unreal.
