  1. Kids, don't try this at home: http://mlb.mlb.com/images/6/9/4/126039694/052215_laa_trout_steal_med_70c05br4.gif http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2015/05/22/126045872/watch-trout-pull-off-one-of-the-best-slides-this-year
  2. Because you started with 1 cent, and doubled down on it?
  3. Desmond might be an upgrade over whoever is on the field any given day, but I'm not sure he's worth going after. Washington's best case scenario is probably hoping that Desmond turns it around in the 2nd half, and probably would ask too much for him anyway. Meanwhile, Trea Turner made his AAA debut tonight. So that's thoroughly depressing.
  4. I owe you a favor for having you go through with that AND for preempting you. And I can see by the time stamps that it took you LESS time than it took me
  5. Actually, on second thought, this doesn't look that fun, sorry........ ERA = ER / IP * 9 A pitcher would need to surrender 1,108 earned runs over 45 innings to have an ERA of 221.6 Yes I'm embarrassed I bothered to calculate that........
  6. Trivia: If a pitcher DID have an ERA of 221.6 ... what would the number of innings pitched and earned runs be? EDIT: actually there is an infinite number of solutions Just answer what the lowest reducible number of IP and Earned runs would be
  7. I think May goes to the bullpen when Santana returns next week. May is getting drilled far too often.
  8. I thought I heard Molitor on the pregame saying he wanted to use Meyer in long relief. Graham has done just fine as long reliever though.
  9. Maybe Buxton sensed he was going to be thrown out on that play (he was right) and then just panicked a little, trying to make a play. Was one of his wrist injuries last year on the base paths? A single injury doesn't seem like a big deal but at some point the trend is concerning
  10. The Twins called this a call up of necessity, not convenience. They weren't joking. The good news is he has gotten this "honeymoon" out of the way. A month in AAA will do wonders and I bet we see him in September again.
  11. That was Buxton's slide? Good lord.
  12. Yeah what's up with this?
  13. Sunsets are rarely captured effectively on smartphones or even good normal cameras, but this night was quite an exception.
  14. glad to be corrected on the statistics. I was thinking of the Sunday game when Schwarber had that late bases loaded knock which broke open the game, then earlier in the second inning when he was intentionally walked to set up a double play situation. Capped off by Kevin Gorg interviewing Schwarber for the Twins post game show, which apparently made the biggest impression on me.
  15. Your "forking" has shown very poor peripherals. It is due for regression. From here on out, choose your spots wisely.
  16. Sano should always be in the discussion, but Plouffe is coming out of his funk, I think. Hands down, Plouffe is a very good third baseman. And then you've got Vargas starting to make better contact, so you want to keep giving him at bats too. Mauer the odd man out?
  17. I would love this but the playing time might be too limited in the NL parks. Though I wouldn't be opposed to him starting a couple games. But it would be very similar to what the Cubs did with Schwarber, however, announcing it was just a callup for the AL parks with the DH. (And that guy killed us when the Cubs came to Target Field)
  18. I saw or heard something that all those votes have already been cancelled, so what you see with all the KC starters is still valid. Who knows. We shall see what happens.
  19. Twins win! And we STILL all want Hughes to finish the complete game, just to feel safe
  20. Going off of Meyer's stat line, it almost looks like they are trying to stretch him out again already. Two of his last three outings went 3 innings. Not saying I agree with that, but it would be a good explanation for why he hasn't pitched on consecutive days.
