  1. It's an "anti-anti" culture taken hold around this. They are not really Rocco fans, but are opposed to people who take positions against Rocco. Why this is, I have no idea. I don't get it either.
  2. Well, no. It's called interviewing.
  3. The NFL has played on Thursday and Saturday for a long time, since the 80s at least. the Fog Bowl was a Saturday morning game. But your second point was exactly what I was getting at. It feels like too much. Maybe I’m just a crank, and don’t understand The Kids anymore. I don’t know but I doubt it. The NFL going out of its way to schedule a game on Christmas when it’s on a Wednesday, combined with the tight relationship with the gambling industry, it feels out of control and not good. I guess that’s the bigger issue.
  4. pretty much the whole radio broadcast that I heard, Gladden and Atteberry talked about “hard evaluations will be made a few days after the season ends.” They kept emphasizing that. “Tough decisions, honest evaluations.” Don’t know if they have inside information or who’s fooling who. I guess we will find out soon enough.
  5. It was 14 years ago when the Vikings played in Philly on that Tuesday night, because of a snowstorm. It was the first NFL game on a Tuesday in the modern era. Now, the NFL has taken over every day of the week, including the important days, and rumor has it the SuperBowl will be pushed back to the end of February pretty soon. It didn't really hit me until I was looking at KC's schedule this morning, that the NFL is basically everywhere now, all the time.
  6. The correct answer is false, but not because of the Brazil game. Trick question, because they do play a Friday and Wednesday game. Wednesday: Christmas day game at Pittsburgh Thursday: Season opener Friday: Day after Thanksgiving against Raiders Saturday: Week 15 against the Texans Sunday: Sunday games of course Monday: They play a couple Monday night games.
  7. That 1994 team was real hard to watch, after about August 12th 🙂
  8. oy.... I don't want to oversell it, but it is nice https://www.instagram.com/netelitebaseball/reel/DAZtQZUI8w6/
  9. Like when he hit the home run in his first postseason at bat last year? 🙂
  10. Did not find it on YouTube, hopefully this instagram link works
  11. Someone created a poignant video with that forlorn musical theme from Moneyball playing over the last putout. It has been on social media. Have you seen that clip?
  12. The kid is trying to be honest, and gets savaged for it. No less than Carlos Correa savages him for it--"being tired is an excuse that's not valid" The clubhouse must be a fun place to be! #leadership
  13. Without looking, True or False: The Kansas City Chiefs play a game this season on every day of the week except Tuesday and Wednesday.
  14. Not sure where you pulled this list from. Blake Snell should be on it. A bunch of those guys will be dropping off it next year. Funny enough, in addition to Pablo next year, Sonny Gray will also make a comet-like appearance near the top of that list in 2025, based on how his contract was structured. Ohtani belongs not on the starting pitcher list but on the ‘Unicorns’ list, with him as the only name on that list. 🙂
  15. Triple crown is now in Ohtani’s sights. The HR and RBI are givens, and he’s now just 5 points behind Arraez in average with Ozuna also still in there, Aaron Judge may get a Triple Crown, too. Although that’s a little harder for Judge being .007 behind Witt, with a game off for Witt, probably coming up. Witt has been fantastic and that’s such a nice story in KC but if I had a MVP vote it would go to Judge.
  16. I also feel like there was no ‘suddenly’ here. That these discussions were had prior to 2022 during the Correa courtship. Falvey would get his payroll increases but knew they were going to reset at some point.
  17. Neither you nor Chief live in the Twin Cities, but the media in this town acted as if the 2023 wild card series was the first time in 65 years that any team in Major League Baseball had advanced that far in the postseason. I expect a similar round of coverage once the 2024 season is laid to rest. As far as the game threads, I dunno, I had fun in it last night, all things considering. You get what you give, I guess. A couple of us had a running bet on whether the Marlins would make four errors again. (The OVER won!) Special shout out to nicksaviking for helping keep it fun. Speaking of the Vikings…
  18. All the usual chit chat between baserunners and base coaches. Thanks for that extra detail about the rest of the infield playing back. I did not catch that on television. I like Gladden.
  19. Stuff like this is coaching, too. With a runner on third base and less than two outs, the Twins almost always put on a contact play. Many teams seem to do this nowadays. I guess under the belief that decisions need to be taken away from the players because players make poor judgment. There is no way Martin chooses to do that by himself.
  20. 4 would work, also. anything but three
  21. Conine is another strike out machine
