  1. “wait til we get Correa and Buxton back in the lineup” Baseball is a funny game, and sports psychology and the Law of Swings (just made that up) tells me this will light a fire under the team in Boston and they will win a few now. You rarely see pure winning or losing streaks like this.
  2. Thanks for the challenge. Both? 🙂 As a response to the claim that Rocco is the worst ever, sure it's fair to respond in kind, and claim that actually he's the best ever. That was probably how my response came off, and I can do better. If the argument is that Rocco is the best based on win percentage, ranking well ahead of Tom Kelly, and no other variables need be considered, then we should just let people be wrong on the internet and have a nice day. If you are critiquing the in-game management, clubhouse, and other little things, which I think most people fall into this category, then yes I think there is a healthy discussion to be had. I heard Molitor one night criticize Rocco's tendency to send the third base runner home on contact on any ground ball. If someone is saying that Rocco is just an extension of the front office and doesn't really make many in-game decisions on his own, I would just say there's a lot of that going around the league right now, and it's too bad. Do the players have a bigger impact on the game than the manager? Absolutely.
  3. Is this a bit, like one of those stupid bits in the game recaps? Rocco is easily the worst manager out of the last four we have had: Kelly, Gardy, Molitor, and Baldelli. of the four modern day managers
  4. That was a great play by Santana. It’s a step and a dive to the backhand, which for the record most corner infielders should be able to make. You have to be willing to get dirty. Maybe not as many first baseman get that ball, given how some teams just park players out there at first who can’t field, but many should. It’s the majors, after all. 🙂 Really nice play.
  5. Following on MLB. Game within the game: Cleveland pitches around Correa, walks him, makes him go stand out on the bases. How does Correa look? He looked not himself on Saturday night.. like he was hurting.
  6. The Saturday and Sunday games are what we could expect to see from the third and fourth starter, when that starter pitches in a Game 3 wild card or in a five game series. Young guys running on fumes removed in the 4th or 5th inning. Guys like Sands or even yes Varland will be heavily relied on the bridge those middle to late innings to get to Jax and Duran.
  7. Agreed. The Pohlads signed off on record payrolls in 2022 to 2023. There was a 25% increase from 2021 to 2022.
  8. What a great ****ing football game. SKOL
  9. You talk about fight, or quitting, or whatever, its super interesting, Detroit was down 4-0 going into the bottom of the 9th tonight, and lost 4-2 with the winning run at the plate. The Twins need to find that fight again in a hurry.
  10. Also he is either clearly in pain and playing it off, or his brain is hung up on his foot between pitches.
  11. Yikes, I just assumed it was cameraderie but if you are right about that we are in trouble
  12. Yeah I heard that today too. Also they are like 18 sizes larger than his actual feet so there is some serious doctoring happening in there. Not to mention Correa clearly looks like his mind is on his feet.
  13. I remember Varland pitching that good game in New York two seasons ago. I don’t know what happened. However hard he throws, I guess he’s just hittable.
  14. I believe they are managing his innings. It does not look good on his stat lines pulling him mid-inning, however #Rocco
  15. 💯 I am also a ‘ride the hot hand’ guy ✋
  16. I thought Fraley’s biggest crime was breaking for home plate flat-footed,
  17. Agreed— did not realize that thing was so good
  18. I thought we had seen the last of Julien at 2B when Correa was activated
  19. We are leading 1-0 after three, though the Reds should be leading about 3-0, so we got that going for us.
